Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii

It's actually a Marine base but my son is in the Navy and is stationed along with a lot of others that make up Navy forces. And I would love to hear information from others about the area, or others that have family or friends stationed there.

He will be with VP 9.  He is a AM.  I am excited for him as I grew up in Hawaii and miss it greatly.  I am hoping he makes friends out there.  Continue

We are getting close to our trip to Oahu to see our son!  We ended up renting a two bedroom house in Kailua since the cottages were totally booked for our timeframe.  Super excited!

Sounds like a good time lynda!  Good for your son.  I seen that the cottages only allow you to book 60 days out from your arrival.  That's fine, but I'm a little worried they'll be totally booked by the time we hit our 60 days.  I was also looking at the Wyndham in Waikiki.  We love the Wyndhams and have stayed at several different ones over the years.  I'm just worried about the amount of people and tourists that are in Waikiki.  I like it a little quieter - my husband likes it noisy!  LOL.

Thanks Lynda!  I really hate seing a typo after the fact.. Haha.. I guess that "fare" made me a little too excited!  Will you be staying on base in the rentals?

Super excited!  Finally got our tickets booked and found a decent fair.  I played the waiting game and had airfare watches out on a couple sites.  Ready to see our son!
