I would love to but it depends on the weather. If it snows, I will have to work so therefore I can't really commit.  If there is no snow in the forecast...count me in!!!

Yes, plans are still on for our next outing!  Would it be ok if we met a little earlier in the day on the 10th, like around 11:00?  I have tickets to a play in Frankfort that night at 6:00, so I want to make sure we have time to spend together for our outing.  If we don't meet untl 1:00, it will be a close call for me to make it back in time to go to the play at 6.

Does it work for all that are planning to go with us on Dec. 10th to meet at the Park n Ride just off the Bluegrass Parkway/Lawrenceburg exit at 11:00?  That will put us at the Bread of Life Cafe by 12:30.  Then we can eat and go shopping at the Amish village until 3.  We will return in Lawrenceburg at 4:30.

I will add this outing as a new event on the right side of this screen, under Events.  If you are planning on going with us, please RSVP on the Event.

Oh, I got so smitten typing about my grandbaby that I forgot to share my good news about my son.  He passed and was promoted to E3 last week.  He's now petty officer, third class.  Woohoo!

Karen and Shelia,  I prayed hard for both of your children today.  I'm so glad prayers were answered for them and for you, their moms!

My husband and I had a wonderful visit with my son, his wife and our baby granddaughter, Madelyn this past weekend.  Maddi will be 6 months old this Saturday and she's such a joy to be around.  Now I'm counting down the days til my son gets to come here on leave.  His leave is from Dec. 16-26th and I can't wait!

Here's a picture my son took of Madelyn with my husband and me on Sunday, just before we headed back to Kentucky.  Sure was hard to leave that cutie pie, but it wasn't as hard because we knew we'd get to see them in another month.  I don't know if you can read her shirt, but I had it embroidered for her and it says "Nana's Girl"

How about we do our get together on Saturday, Dec. 10th at 1:00?  For those of us near Lexington or Frankfort; we can meet at the park-n-ride at the Lawrenceburg exit off the BG parkway and then carpool from there to Liberty to the Bread of Life Cafe and then do some shopping in the Amish village nearby.

Hi Kentucky Navy Moms!  It's a gorgeous day today in the Bluegrass area.  I am gettig ready to go to the Ky Book Fair in Frankfort at the Civic Center.  Over 200 authors in one place is paradise for this librarian - ha! ha!

I missed my son a lot yesterday, too.  Our 1st grade classes did a Veteran's Day show and invited me to speak about Honor Flight.  That was so special.  I had planned to go pick up my WWll veteran that I helped on the July Honor Flight and bring him to the show.  But he had a CT scan yesterday at the hospital to check up on his fractured skull and didn't get to come.  I carried a picture of my son around with me yesterday and that helped a little.

Yes, I'm ready for Thanksgiving because we have decided to make a trip to Norfolk.  We'll only be there Fri-Sun, but it's better than nothing!  Just couldn't wait until Christmas to get to see the granddaughter!

Dolphin, my sister called last night to find out where things are with the dip process.  I told her you had been out of town a lot lately.  Give us a call when you get a chance to let us know how things are progressing and if there's anything we can do to help.

Shelia,  I'm so glad you're there to keep your daughter company while the boyfriend is away.  She's blessed to have you!  I put the 2 little purple chairs on either side of my little mini purple couch in the library and they look great there!  The kids love sitting in them.  I'll have to take a picture of a student sitting on them while they are reading.  It warms my heart and every time I see those chairs, I think of our fun outing to Glendale when I bought them with you.

I know the holiday hustle and bustle is upon us, but would anyone like to try to have a Ky Navy Moms get together soon?  We could do a Saturday or Sunday afternoon meal somewhere.  There's a great Amish place to eat in Liberty called Bread of Life and it is run by the Galilean Home for orphans.  We could eat there and then go shopping in the Amish village that's near there.  Would be a great place to do some Christmas shopping!    They are not open on Sundays, so we would need to plan on a Saturday.  Anyone want to go?  Let me know.

I'll close with a cute picture of little miss Madelyn

Happy fall y'all  :-)

I love this time of year.  The cooler weather, leaves changing, fall festivals, and corn mazes.  Lots of fun times.

Shelia, glad your daughter and son are doing great.  I'm glad she got to travel to GA to see her boyfriend and do all the fun Halloween things.  That's exciting that your son is moving into the next phase of flight school.  I miss you, too.  We all need to put our thinking caps on and come up with a fall outing for Ky Navy Moms!

Karen, so glad you get to have the grandson for the weekend.  I liked the pics you put on FB of him at Gattitown.  That is a fun place, especially with little ones (us grownups have fun there, too).

I'm missing my granddaughter, but they are sending lots of pics of all her "firsts", even her first costume.  I'm including a pic of our cute little chick!  They will get to be home for 10 days during Christmas and I can't wait!

Congratulations to your son Dolphin!!!

I so wish I could hear from my son.  He is on the USS Kentucky Blue (he was thrilled being the fan that he is) and is deployed. The last time I heard from him was Tuesday morning before I had surgery. He wanted me (or someone) to let him know I was ok. If I could just hear from him now so that I would know he is ok.  I love my boy like crazy.

Congrats Sheila - that is awesome for your son!  I am coming to Glendale tomorrow and if anyone else wants to ride with me, let me know.  It should be great weather and I can't wait to shop til I drop!  Would love to have a buddy or 2 or more go with me :-)

Happy birthday to the Navy,

Lisa
