Ok ladies, I am so excited to tell you about the miracle God performed for our family today!
My son's ship has been scheduled to go underway from June 1st - 10th for a long time now. I had been dreading the date of June 1st because I knew it would mean my son would have to go out to sea on the ship and miss the birth of his baby. We've all been praying that God would make a way for Jacob to be here for the birth of his baby. Wweeellll, I got a text from my son this morning that said something broke on his ship and that it would take 3-5 weeks to fix it. So their ship is not leaving!!!!
The Navy may think there's just a problem with the parts on the ship, but I KNOW it was all done by my awesome God. He's still performing miracles and we witnessed one today!
They had a 9am appointment with the doctor this morning to see about inducing labor, but after they found out the ship is not leaving, the doctor said it would be best to just let nature take it's course and wait for the birth to happen in it's own time. I know it will happen in God's time and can wait peacefully now because we don't have to worry about the ship taking our son out to sea.
Thanks for letting me share my good news and for all your prayers and support. My DIL was dilated 3cm today and 80% efaced -sp? She still is not having regular contractions so the waiting continues. I will keep you posted as things progress. Her due date is not until June 6th, so it may still be a while.
Praising God,
Lisa (jboysmom)
Wow, Dolphin, that was a great tribute to our heroes that have fought for our freedom. Reading your story made me cry. Beautiful, heart-felt words that make me so proud of our veterans and those that have fought to give us the gift of freedom.
Congrats to all you moms that have the graduations now and the upcoming graduations this summer. Exciting, proud times are happening!
I've been working extra hours at school to work ahead some of my extended employment days so that I'll have more days off this summer to spend in Norfolk.
Still no "baby" call. I talked to my son this afternoon and he said she's having sporadic labor, but nothing at regular intervals yet. His ship leaves out June 1st, so we're all praying the baby will be born before that. She goes to the doctor on Tuesday, so maybe they will induce her then. I'm on pins and needles with all this waiting!
There's a special Memorial Day service at the Healing Field here in Lawrenceburg tomorrow at 3:00. If anyone wants to come, it will be a special service because they are dedicating 13 new flags/memorials for Kentuckians that have been killed serving this past year.
I hope everyone has a blessed Memorial Day
Wow, babydahlzz, that is some exciting and yet scary news at the same time. I just hope he will get to see his brother's graduation before he leaves. My son found out he had to leave in June instead of November when he went. He left for his swearing in ceremony on his wife's birthday and they had only been married for a month (decided to get married before boot camp instead of in December as originally planned). I remember the mixed emotions we all had then. We were excited for him because he was so ready to go, but at the same time, we were scared to let him go. Now he's been in for 2 years and we're so proud of all he's accomplished. I wish the best for all your family and will pray that your son gets another week or so at home before leaving. Hang in there. We're here for you too and make sure you join the boot camp mom's group. They were my saving grace while my son was in boot camp. I lived online with that group and they got me through the tough times of missing him. Take care and God Bless
Dolphin, got your request and accepted it. Talk soon!
