Hi Ky Navy Moms!

Boy, this group sure has been quiet over the summer!  How is everybody doing?  We need to do a better job of keeping in touch cause Lord knows we need each other!

From reading all our posts over the past few months, we sure have had our share of ups n downs.  I remember that when my son was in boot camp (3 years ago), one of the Navy moms on the boot camp group said we were all climbing aboard the Navy roller coaster and to be ready for a crazy ride.  She sure knew what she was talking about!

We all are still riding that crazy Navy roller coaster, but I have to say I am enjoying the ride (most of the time).  I can only imagine our our sons and daughters and their spouses all feel about riding this crazy Navy roller coaster.

Yes, Shelia, I am definately planning on going to the Glendale Crossing festival on Oct. 20th.  If any of you others would like to ride there with me, I plan on leaving early that Saturday morning.  I went last year and it is AWESOME!  I've been counting down the days until this year's festival to go again.

Thinking about all that we've been through these past few months, reminds me that we all need to have some ME time and pamper ourselves more.  I'd love for us to all get together in September for a special outing.

How about we try to go to The Glitz in Nonesuch (near Versailles)?  I love this place and if you've never been, you HAVE to go with us!  I will need to make reservations because they stay very booked up as they are only open for lunch from 11:30-1:30.  Would Sept. 8 or 29th work best for any of you?   Let me know so that I can call to make a reservation.

Blessings,

Lisa (jboysmom)

jboysmom...I thought Washington state was far!!  I will keep you and your family in my prayers.  Hopefully the 4 years will go fast and you will get to visit often. Enjoy your time together next week. Congratulations on his re-enlistment.

Dolphin...I hope all is well.  I will keep you and your family in my prayers as well.  It really must be the season to be sad.  Keep your head up, things will get better.

Ok ladies, I'm gonna need some support now.  My son just found out today that he will be doing his next 4 years of shore duty in Sigonella, Italy!  While I'm happy that he and his wife and my granddaughter will get to travel the world, I'm also very sad that we won't get to visit them like we have been able to do while he's been in Norfolk, VA.

I want to be happy for them, but all I'm doing tonight is crying because of how much I'm going to miss them and how far away they will be.  We are driving to Norfolk this Friday and will be spending a week with them.  This trip has been planned for a long time, so I am thankful for the timing of his finding out about his next assignment.

He and his wife have been able to get his re-enlistment ceremony scheduled for next week while we are visiting, so we'll get to witness that next milestone.  We've been very blessed to be able to be there for all his major milestones and I'm worried that we won't be able to do that while they're in Italy.

I know I'm still in shock, but I sure am having a hard time dealing with the news that Jacob will be in Italy for the next 4 years - help!

Hi ladies...I have so much going on I forgot about this.  Sorry!!

Comment by jboysmom on May 31, 2012 at 10:14pm

I can do either the 23 or 24th.  You gals choose, cause either is fine with me.

Comment by Angie on May 29, 2012 at 9:17pm

Hi ladies...I haven't been on for awhile...my son is home!!!!!!!  He will be leaving soon so I definitely will need time away.  I am already dreading it.  The 30th won't work for me, it's my grandson's birthday.  I missed it last year because I was in Conneticut with my son, his uncle, and he has not let me forget it.  Let me know when you decide.
