I got the calling cards from Quick Trip.  Honestly, he has never used a calling card before so that might have been it.

Kathy, What brand of calling card did you buy? Maybe you could post a warning to other moms not to buy the same kind.

I read that our sailor's can get harrased if our login info has their name in it.  I did get a quick call from my sailor Sun.  He let me know that he was okay and that the call cards I got for him didn't work.  He sounded tired or sad, probably a little of both.  His tenitive pir date is 3/25/11.  Ship 07 DIV 114

Michael's Mom, Thank you for the humor. It's one of the things I like best about this website!

Brad's Mom,

My son has been at GL since Jan 12th. I guess his division hasn't earn any phone calls yet. I have not received a letter from him. I'm beginning to believe that he slept through his letter-writing time on Sunday. Oh, well, I know he's fine. I just want to hear it from him.

Kathy,

I hope you did get a call this morning. I'm glad you know is assignment already. Remember to join your PIR group. Someone advised including your recruit's ship and division number as part of your user name. It makes it easier for others looking for the same numbers to find you.

Hello, YMM (Ship 12 Div 98) How long has your son been at boot camp? I got a phone call from my son, before I received his first letter, I think that was about 2 weeks! I hope you get something soon!!

Any news from Boot Camp. Still haven't received a letter from my son. Wondering if anyone has heard anything.

2 years of training!  Wow.  Our son was going nuts after just nine months of Boot Camp and IS schooling.  He finally reported to his first command in late December (after joining the Navy in March) and is now afloat on a "work-up" ahead of a regular deployment sometime this summer.  He is very excited to finally get the chance to do his "job".
