Hey Everyone!

My husband and I currently live in Florida and we just found out we will be relocating to Norfolk, VA around the beginning of next month!  I really want to find a house or anything off base. Does anyone have an suggestions of where to look? We have a baby so we want it to be in a decent area. Any information on the town will be great too! I hope to meet some of you girls that live there! Us military wives have to stick together and it is always nice to meet new friends =)

Hi, I'm not a new Mom, but I'm a 'new Navy Mom' (and I'm in Tidewater/southeast VA)!  My son is presently at ODS in Newport, RI and will return to VA at the end of his time there to begin his second year of medical school.  I'm always open to meeting new people and making new friends!

Always Ready: could you either post or PM the name of the housing you are in? I am looking at base housing now for us, we will have 2 kids, and 2 dogs, so it's hard finding what we need off base, for BAH.. any advice would be great!

You can get housing even if you don't have any children but they are very small for even a single person. There are a lot of decently priced places that are perfect sizes for couples without babies and most of the time you will be able to pocket some BAH.

I am new to this group my husband was recently given orders to VA and we are looking for a place. Does anyone have any suggestions? We should be moving in mid August. We have both been searching the internet non-stop for places but I am looking for a safe area and it has not proven to be an easy task. Please help.

sounds wonderfull i doubt i cant get base housing for just my husband and I , no kids. Plus i think finacially it would be better to live off and possibly make a little money off of BAH. we shall see

It would be great if one of you would add a Discussion above and call it Base Housing, add what you know about it - seems a lot of times the question comes up...
