Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

yes but...r/t 5 days/week adds up to 10 hrs a week in the car...IDK, when there's an accident or something it's a disaster (been there done that) and the Navy's not too forgiving :)

Kac, the commute isn't that bad... If he has to be at work by 700 he would leave between 530 n 600 cuz of the line to get on base can be awful at times.

Our apartment complex in Hampton allows big dogs. One of our neighbor has a huge doberman. I don't think the commute from Hampton to Norfolk Naval Base is that bad. If you leave early enough, its fine.

sorry for the million questions but does anyone have anything to say about base houseing? i never hear of anyone living there but there has to be! We may consider it jsut because i know no one in the area but then again we are trying to save money

Janae thanks that really does look perfect! I gave them a call as well. Hampton is accoss the water though, is th ecommute to the base really as bad as people are saying? I read up on this area and it seems Hampton and virginia beach are the places to be.

The apartments of merrimac in Hampton allow pets... I don't have the number but there website is the apartmentsofmerrimac.com

Kac,depending on their occupancy they may negotiate a little, never hurts to ask!
