@ Marcy, You sure do like road trips! LOL we are actually kind of excited now that its getting closer. We are planning on making a bunch of stops in random states too. Our base now is severely small and not the friendliest but we have heard so many great stories abut Norfolk and VA in general we are so excited now. By the way you are a super women doing that while 7 ½ months pregnant now the real question is how many times did you guys have to stop for you to pee? LOL I bet it made the trip a lot more longer lol jk

Wow Melissa, that's really something!  Which routes did you take?

Dandoona, when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant, we drove from Boston to San Francisco in a Ryder rental truck towing our car, and had a great time!  How often do you really get that amount of time together, talking, laughing, listening to tunes, and end up with a story to tell, too.  The Norfolk area will be a breeze for making friends, as so many couples there are just like you; and there's so much to do.  So try to relax!  :)  (btw, when I was in college I would drive from Virginia to AZ in a 2-seater with my mom, also fun.  Guess I like road trips lol)

I can't imagine that drive. I make the drive from Va to TX and back every year and have been doing that for 12 years. I'm actually thinking of taking a different route this year just to make it interesting. Why don't cars fly?

Dandoona, where is your hubby going to be stationed at? My hubby just did the drive all the way from San Diego to Norfolk. He had to stop in Texas for training as this will be the first time he's ever been on a ship.. Good luck!
