My husband arrived in Great Lakes August 1st and i got "the call" at exactly midnight letting me know he had made it, As somebody else said, he didn't sound like himself and it made me feel terrible! But he had also been up since 4am...

i got the call too and my husband did not have the same sweet tone he usually does. It broke my heart!

Alyssa - I'm from Michigan too - my son left on August 2.  What part of Michigan are you from?

My husband left yesterday from San Diego, Ca. I got my "Im here" phone call today around 6:30pm their time. I already miss him.

Hang in there Jessica & Branan, it really does help to talk to poeple on here. I gets me through my days when I am missing my son the most.

Im in South FL so im not expecting the box till probably Monday... This is our first time apart in the 3 years we've been married and his first time being away from our 7 month old so its hard! But i'm thinking its going to fly by for me having a 7 month old daughter and 5 months preg. with another little girl, i've got alot to keep myself busy lol

Thank you Tonya K - it does help to come on here and read what others have to say who are going through the exact same thing!

Oh man, i know that feeling i had a phone call today from a phone number with a 813 area code and i know chicago's is 8__ something and i got so excited!!! Was def. not him lol i was so bummed and felt like such a dork for getting so excited for nothing :)

Thank you, we are SO excited!

You missed the first call :(   Well hopefully you do get another!

Thats actually why we are having 2 so close together, we tried for 3 years before we got preg. with our 7 month old daughter Sawyer, so after she was born we loved it so much and wanted another one soon after so started trying immediately (not knowing if it would take a long time again) and we got pregnant RIGHT away!! We are naming her Brynlee... We like different names...

Girls are wonderful :) But im sure a boy would be just as great. Goodluck to ya'll, being a mom is amazing!!

Whats your husbands job?

David (my husband) called at 8:30pm when he landed in Chicago and told me to be expecting a call a little later and i got the call at exactly midnight! I stayed up waiting for it..

Thank you and i LOVE Ella! Ya with both preg. we had a really hard time coming up with even 1 boy name that we would actually consider! But we have alot  of girl names that we love...

He will be doing Aviation Electronics.

Ya it would! You'll have to let me know as soon as you find out what division he's in!
I just received my "kid in a box" today. As soon as I opened it, I cried because it smelled just like him. After I got done boo hooing, I found that the way stuff was put in the box kinda funny.  The shirt was inside out, his jeans and boxers were still hooked together with one leg inside out. Shoes not even untied, all just dropped into the box. He must have been in a little bit of a hurry. Might be the last time he doesn't have to fold his clothes neat.
My husband got there the same day as your son & we both got our calls at midnight :) So maybe i will get "the box" tomorrow... Where do you live? Im in south Fl so pretty far from Great Lakes...
