My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years now. We were inseparable for those 3 years. I supported him a 100% when he told me he wanted to join the navy. I always said "oh this will be easy"... Turns out this is the hardest thing I've ever went through. It sucks not having your best friend around anymore. I have no one to talk to, no one too tell what happens during my day.. I feel so empty inside and I hate this feeling. I'm also so nervous because I don't know what he's doing. I just want to hear from him. I haven't heard from him since 12:04 on Thursday night, for 31 seconds :( he sounded like a robot and it killed my heart hearing him like that. I just want to hear from him!
Another thing that scared me is of hell meet another girl at BC:/ he always said hell never leave me for another girl... But it's always a thought in the back of my head.
Does anyone know when I could possibly receiving my first call or my first letter? Some people say a few days after he leaves and some people say 2-3 weeks ?? Anyone know?

I read this and seriously thought it was something I could write, verbatim haha. I feel so similar to you. My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 2 years. I have supported him unconditionally throughout this decision he made to enlist. I always knew it would be trying to say the least, but man, reality doesn't hit you until everything finally happens.

Today I finally gave a thought to the co-ed BC too. I am very, very secure in our relationship, even if we aren't officially engaged yet. But man, I don't like the idea of co-ed stuff for a long period of time all the while him and I can barely conversate. But even with that little thought in the back of my head, I stay positive! I am keeping my eye on the ultimate future and that is with us together as a family.

When did your BF leave and from where? My BF left from MEPs in Baltimore, MD 8/14 and I thankfully got to talk to him all the way until he left Chicago O'hare airport to drive to RTC. The last call was scripted and it brought me to tears. At least I got to hear his voice.

I've been writing letters almost daily as well as my daughter. I will send at least an envelope or two full once I finally get his address. I am praying it doesn't take the 2 weeks people are warning about.

Are you traveling to graduation? I will be coming from Philly, driving or by train I'm not sure yet. Its a confusing trip but I will do/spend whatever I have to to see him graduate! And to see him for any given amount of time.

Stay strong, even on your weakest days! We are their biggest supporters and have their backs unconditionally. This experience will prove this to them now more than ever. So stick to positivity and reach out if you ever need to talk :)
