For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

MY SON LEAVES FOR BOOTCAMP AUG.12,2014
My 18 year old son leaves Aug.12,2014 for Boot Camp... I cant remember him being so excited about anything. I am excited for this new adventure in his life. The Mom in me has my worries. I have never felt so lost as a parent.What I can do to help my son prepare for this HUGE life changing event?
I'm open to any and all information...

Hopefully you will get it today! Since the kids are in different ships and divisions we cant share address. I think that would be breaking one of the security rules anyways!
I have sent four letters/postcards out since I got mine yesterday afternoon! Might be a little overboard!!

Addresses at the RTC are in the Public Domain (http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp). Just don't add your recruit's name when sharing it.

Brittanysmom, ten days after arrival is average for receiving the form letter. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC. Not everyone who arrived on the same day will be in the same division since one to four divisions fill each night, but it is very likely that your recruit will be in the 10/10/2014 TG. Integrated divisions and the all female division sometimes take longer to fill than the all male divisions so she may still be in P-days.

My daughter left 8/12 and I felt like the day she first went to kindergarden...I am so proud and happy for her and I have had nothing but positive feedback from all friends and family, so proud and thankful she will serve our country. I received her box of things today and got a bit emotional...I pray for her everyday and can't wait to see her at graduation!!!

Got my letter today.. .My son is Ship 13 Div 323... Yaaa I was able to mail him all these letters reminding him we are here for him 100%... Anyone else have info on there SR's?
