For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Hi Kat Q, i found the info from the countdown to 10-1-10 PIR site. I will look again and get more info for you. the mom who is doing this is LaLa Ribbon queen and the ribbons are Navy with silver stars, I believe. I am so happy to be hearing from others moms. I believe we are brother divisions. Keep in touch. Got a second letter from my boy. He sound ok but didn't answer any of my mental questions. there is also a site that you can download questions for your sailor. I did and mailed it to him. Hopefully he can get enough energy to Circle the answers. got to go, family wanted breakfast. I should send them all to bootcamp.

Eileen, how are you doing? I got a 2nd letter from Jay. He said he cut his finger while shaving and missed the dive but is going to do the makeup for it soon. Also said that he is still on the 10-1 PIR . He says he will always remember the shipmates from boot. take care and will keep in touch.

sailorjay, I am doing okay. Sorry to hear about your son's finger. No stitches or anything? Hope not. DJ's second letter just sounded so heartbreaking, but I have to think positive as I hope he is. I really can't believe how quickly the time is going. Just 31 days left! As far as we know he is still on the 10-1 PIR. I hope we get to meet. That would just be awesome!! Have a great day and take care!! Hoping for a phone call or letter soon!! :)

Got a letter today. He sent one to me and one to his dad. He sounds so frustrated and wants to come home, but realizes he just can't do that. He doesn't think he can do it any more even though he was made a leader of his section which is pretty good from what I've heard. I wrote him back with some encouraging words telling him how proud we are and that this is his time to take care of him and not worry about us and his friends. Still no phone calls, but maybe we will get more letters next week. Sure do miss him!! 35 days left til PIR!!!!

Just so you know. I have been staying just with the PIR 10-1-10 group. But from time to time I do check this site. the time is flying by for me, I hope it is for the boys/girls.
