What determines if their departure date is moved up?  My son is scheduled to leave 12/11/12.  We have planned a farewell get together on 12/01 thinking that would be safe.  We are in south Ga but he will be leaving out of Jacksonville, Fl..

We're in Texas. He was just told at the last meeting. I dont think any one thing determines it.

Are you talking about his last meeting with his recruiter?  Just wondering. Our son's recruiter called him in last week (unscheduled). I was holding my breath after I had seen so many guys have had their date moved up.  Luckily, an earlier date was not mentioned.

Time is flying by!

My son is leaving 12/06/12, his friend was scheduled to leave a week later, his friend just got a call yesterday his ship out date is now 12/03/12. Not sure how he was chosen to leave earlier now.

Our son is scheduled to leave on 12/11. We have scheduled a get together for a good number of his friends on Dec 1st.  Hopefully his date will not be moved up.....I know we are all trying to squeeze in holiday stuff before they leave.

my daughter is leaving on 12/12/12 yes it has been tough trying to do the holidays early

My son will be leaving from Montgomery AL 12/10.  Anyone else have a SR going to BC at this time?  I am getting anxious!

My son leaves 12/12 from Duluth, MN

@ densie...our farewell get together went great!  There were around 40 people there, mostly his good friends and adults who have had a positive influence in his life over the years.  He was definately surprised!  I have been pretty good up through today.  Today, the tears are just coming from out of no where with no warning.  I keep thinking if I'm like this with 8 days to go, what in the world am I going to be like next weekend...lolll !!

How about you? How are you doing?

my son leaves from Charlotte, NC on 12/10
