What determines if their departure date is moved up?  My son is scheduled to leave 12/11/12.  We have planned a farewell get together on 12/01 thinking that would be safe.  We are in south Ga but he will be leaving out of Jacksonville, Fl..

Thank you so much. I will join that group as well. I really appreciate it and will probably just wait for the letter so I don't send something that he might never receive : ) Happy Holidays!

My son leaves 12/10/12 from Michigan

Is 12/10 the day he starts boot camp, because my son leaves for MEPS on 12/09 from Milwaukee and starts boot camp on 12/10

My son is leaving on the 13th.  Hope it doesn't get moved up any more.  Will be a hard Christmas.

My son is leaving the 13th too from Columbus,Ohio. He signed his contract November28th and they set his date to leave for December 13th. I have not had much time for it all to sink in yet! I was hoping it would be after Christmas :(

My 19yo son is starting bootcamp December 12 at Great Lakes, from the Chicago area. Our farewell get together is December 8th or 9th. I'd like it on the 8th. Going to be a tough Christmas!

Then our sons will be together!!

My son was suppose to leave the 13th, they moved it to the 3rd a few weeks ago. We are also in Michigan.

My son's original departure date was 12/11 last DEP meeting they changed it to 12/13!  I thought that was odd.

DNmom I just sent you a friend request.  I am also from South Georgia a little more South than Blackshear.  My son leaves on December 3rd.  His original day was the day after Christmas, then the 19th then the 6th and now the 3rd.  I hope it doesn't move up again.

Bless!   We'll definately need to make contact. Guessing your son will be leaving from Jacksonville too?

What town did you say you are from?
