For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

He's gone =(
Well, my husband departed the airport about 30 minutes ago. I am so overwhelmed with emotions. I want to be happy for this adventure, but at the same time am incredible sad at the lack of communication we will have for 8-9 weeks. I currently have a love/hate relationship with the Navy LOL.
So for those of you that have gone through this, during a holiday, will he get to call home, get a day off during bootcamp? How long before I receive "the box" and then the letter with grad and mailing information? What would you anticipate being grad date?
I know this sight is mostly moms. My mother in law feels nearly like he has died. Questions on when and if she will get to see him again because of A School then where we will be shipped to. It's such an emotional process. I am already counting down the days until he can at least have electronics so I can hear his voice and see him, thank you technology.
Anyone else have their sailor arriving at GL today and then going on to MAA?
And anyone that can answer my above questions, I would GREATLY appreciate the insight. Much love and prayers to you all on this emotional rollercoaster we are all riding.
