Hello Pattie S. My son leaves Jan 24. Feeling the same way and extremely proud of him
Yes! You have every right to be proud! Don't over think. Just know in your heart he'll do wonderful!
Hi. I believe our SR's are in the same division! 104 ship 14
My son leaves Wednesday. I can relate to the nerves kicking in. I am trying to be strong but keep getting teary-eyed thinking about it.

check your My Page.

I don't know what else to edit? Still trying to learn this site

You took care of the obvious issues. The comment you replied to was not for you.

I'm not over thinking it. If you do it'll hurt badly. Just keep in mind he's going to have an amazing career, and you'll see him in only a few short weeks!
Don't over think. Remember you've raised a strong future Sailor! You will see him very soon!

Welcome to the Club! It will be exciting for your son/daughter and scary for you. The more information you have about what your Seaman Recruit (SR) will be going through the easier it will be for you.

This is a video of what they will be going through:

Just remember that this is what they wanted to do. They have grown up on us and are making their own decisions.

My Blue Candle is glowing for All Our Sailors/Seaman Recruits, Families and Friends!

Thank you! I've watched so many videos, and have read everything I could get my hands on. I'll check this out!

Hi Patti.  Know what you mean - my son leaves Jan 24th and the days are flying by!  I am so excited that he is finally getting started, nervous about him going off on his own, and proud of the decision he has made for himself.

Are you feeling prepared?  This site is so helpful, but I still worry we'll miss or forget something important.
