My son (only child) left today for bootcamp and it was the hardest thing I've ever done in my entire life.  Thankful for getting to spend the holidays with him, but hard nonetheless.  It's amazing how excited and ready these kids are when the parents are a wreck.  Praying that I can snap out of this crying phase quickly!

My son also left January 3rd. So very hard. I got the phone call from him that night, then his belongings box was delivered today. I spent Friday and Saturday cleaning his room as it took my mind off of it. It felt good to be mad at him during that time with all my glasses/silverware that had been missing found under his bed! Lol. I did spend yesterday crying a few times as I had some down time. I have 4 boys and this is my youngest.

Wow, that literally sounds like what I did! I cleaned his room and did laundry Friday and Saturday as well....found the root to the smell in his room and many dishes...hahaha I'm glad to hear that I'm not going crazy and that others are going through the same emotional roller coaster. Today is the first day I've not cried, but the box arrived and it made me sad. I was really hoping he would have written a letter to us or something, but nope...just dirty clothes. hahaha
Hoping time flies! Glad to know I'm not alone in this journey!

Boys and their rooms! We live in WA State, my #3 son went to college at Arizona State. The difference with that was I could talk to him, text him and I knew he would fly home holidays, spring break and then summer home. The hard part is not talking to them. Not knowing next time will be able to be home. Its all new to us. I am counting down the days till we can send letters and graduation! I know right, more dirty clothes! Lol

Yes, the not being able to talk or text is extremely hard.  I’m hoping that form letter arrives before the 2 week timeframe I’ve read about so I can send the stack of letters I’ve written. Ha!  Wish I knew what was going on each day.  We have friends who’s kids went to marine bootcamp and they got a calendar which told them each day what was happening.  Ugh.

I sure hope it arrives early too! I want to get my letters sent to him. I also didnt know we should send phone cards with them. I had no idea. I have to get a phone call from him, so I will send one in his first letter I mail.

I hope my sons box arrives quickly! More important is the form letter with his address! I got my 30 second call last night when he arrived! I’m so excited for him to begin his Navy journey! Missanbe I see we live fairly close by each other!
