Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Did your SR arrive 1/8/14?
I text my daughter from the time that I dropped her off n 1/7/14 until her phone died afternoon of 1/8/14. Received call at 945pm last night. Who else had a love one arrive last night. My daughter said there were six others with her and I'm wondering if any of their parents are on here.

My son left yesterday .. I heard from the Recruter that it was a small group of 8 and that my son was in a mixed group females/ males .. Grad feb 28

Hey Suzi - my daughter's group was small & mixed - about 8. Where did your son fly out of? My kid was out of RDU airport. Your recruiter gave a tentative PIR date of February 28th? I was guessing March 7th as the date. Maybe our group is the push unit. That worries me a bit as my daughter has 4 impacted wisdom teeth and if they decide to pull them in basic (even though they ARE NOT bothering her) I'm fearful it will delay her training. If the normal 8 weeks are shortened....oh man... so much for me staying strong. I can see me stressing over little (maybe not so little) things.

How did you hear grad is 2/28? My SR said she thought it would be 3/7

By counting 9 Fridays, PIR would be 03/07/2014, but since the RTC seldom has more than 2 weeks with no PIR, the PIR for those arriving at the beginning of this week will most likely be 02/28/2014 and some of those arriving later in the week may have PIR on 03/07/2014. (See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.)

I read all the information but am still confused. She got to RTC Wed 1/8/14, so P-1 should be Thursday, since Push groups are usually ones that arrive on Mon or Tues she should have a PIR date of 3/7/14. Is this correct?

No, those in a push division can arrive any day of the week. It is usually those arriving on a Monday or Tuesday who fill a Push Division (usually from the week before, but last week the 02/28/2014 TG was probably completely filled on or before Wednesday). You SR will probably have PIR on 03/07/2014, but she could also be part of the 02/28/2014 TG depending on when her division began filling. She could be in a Push division in the 03/07/2014 TG and have to wait on others to arrive this week to fill the division and have 9 Fridays while others in the division only have 8 Fridays. Being in a Push division does not mean that everyone in the division only has 8 Fridays (except for those in the 02/28/2014 TG), but that some in the division do. It's a little confusing; I know.

Hi! My daughter landed at O'Hare yesterday and I got a call around 10:15ish for about 2 mins then she called again from RTC with the official call this morning about 12:15. I'm sad to admit I'm trying to cyber stalk right now. I thought I read that sometimes video from RTC is posted and we might catch a glimpse of our SRs. I'm also checking their weather... sad, right? Actually I've been doing well so far but 24 hrs haven't even passed yet. Uh oh. ;-}

My son was supposed to leave on 1/7 but got delayed until today. He arrived in Chicago at 1:11! He was worried that his phone was dying and might not be able to call. I am glad he was able to send off a few texts!

My son arrived this afternoon! Just got the phone call. My son's recruiter said to call him Friday and he would have a graduation date.
