For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Leaving for Boot Camp 1/29
Hi, We dropped our boy off yesterday. Yes, he will always be my little boy no matter how big or old he is. He stayed in a hotel last night, was sworn in this morning and is off to the windy frigid city at some point this afternoon. I am a hot mess! I am so excited for this new chapter in his life and all of the things he will see and do but the mommy in me is in mourning. I'm very thankful to have found this group and look forward all of the things you all can share to help get me through this

I am right where you are. Hot mess is the perfect description. I feel your pain and hope we can feel better in the days to follow. I've been crying so much, it looks like both eyes are almost swollen shut.

I'm so with you. My son just called a bout 30 min ago. Hes with the USO and they are marching them down in groups of 14 I believe he said..3 days since we dropped him off at the bus for MEPS. It still hurts so bad. I still have break downs . They are getting a bit better, but still hurts..Soo to all who are hurting with me. This is what made our kids strong enough. Our love...I know my son is fine..Its me who's a wreck, but I am not telling him that. I started a journal and a letter. The journal has all my pain, fears. His letter has all my Hope's and dreams.And some pain. Have to let him know he is missed a bit. Chatting on here knowing I am not alone. Being able to vent. Helps. Feel free to post to my wall. I'll comment back.

I am in the same mess. I watched my son ship out last thursday and it was the hardest thing I had to do. I am proud of him and the adult decisions he is making. I keep thinking where did the 19 years go? I never thoughtit would be this hard to have him leave but the momma bear in me wants to keep him close and let no harm come to him. I am greatful to have found this grouo and together we will become stronger and united with our futuare sailors. Any ttips and thoughts are welcome on my wall,

How is everyone doing?Its been a few days. I'm in a better place emotionally. It's still a struggle, but I didn't cry once yesterday. Although I had 2 times came close. Anyone hear about the anchor you can make for them.You are suppose to hang it on your hotel door, or some people that cant go to graduation hang it on their home door. If u need to talk I'm listening.

Im holding steady at hot mess. I keep waiting for him to walk through the door. I'm no longer weepy just grumpy. My 13yr old daughter is having a really tuff time with it. Im hoping it gets better once we start writing to him

My recruit left the same day...I agree they will always be your little one. It is nice to be able to share these thoughts and emotions with other mom's who can relate. Stay strong and know you have given him all the tools that he will need to get him through the next few weeks:-)

Yep. Same date. I recieved an actual written letter today..yayyyy.Although it wasnt a happy one and he actually called me mommy.(which I have to say he hasn't done since elementary school. )But I sucked it up buttercup and told him that basically he is strong enough, he can do this, I'm fine and cant wait for his graduation..Yeah theres more, but you get the jist.
Funny as much as my heart wants to say no come home now, his dreams and what's good for him over powers that. I guess we are both growing up in our own ways..
I hope everyone is doing well. Would love to hear from yall and your experience.
