After a long and stressful day of waiting we finally received *the call* at 1:30 this morning.   The logical person inside of me knows that we won't be hearing from him again for a few weeks but the Mom in me is chomping at the bit for any tiny bit of information about him that I can find.

My son arrived the 17th as well, we are in the Pacific time zone, so my call came closer to 11.

Glad to meet someone else who's ship date was the 17th. Was beginning to stress a bit about being the only one since he was the only shipper out of this area then.   Looks like you and I can stress about our boys together!  LOL

I sent you a friend request, so I can PM you with information when I get any.  :)

Great! I was going to send you one but still haven't quite figured out the site yet.  I'll PM you as well if/when I hear anything from my recruit.

My son also arrived in GL on the 17th. It was a long day of "hurry-up-and-wait" but I thought we were lucky to spend some time with him before he left for the airport. The call came in at about 12:30. It was startling to hear the stress in his voice, but I know it's all for the best. I'm so proud of him.

It is nice to be able to reach out to other moms who understand.

My son shipped on the 17th as well and we are anxiously awaiting any information from him, what a long weekend!

I understand completely how you feel.  It's very frustrating.  LOL    I did find something to help me though.  I went to navydep.com and read the "bootcamp" thread so I at least now have *some* idea of what his days are like and what he's doing.

It's not much but it's something to help just a little bit.

I don't have "official" information, but a source told me my SR is in Div 289.  I'll update you ladies with the official info once I get his letter.

The kids were so excited "AUSTIN SENT US A BOX!!!  We got presents!"  Sorry guys, just his dirty laundry.

I was so glad we got it, I have been stressing all week wondering if he wrote down/finally memorized his address.

YAY !   I got "the box" today too!!! <3  Soo excited!!  LOL  isn't it funny how we get all excited over a box of dirty laundry... oh well, I guess it's because it's some form of communication from our babies!!  Oh my goodness.. THE BOX is here!! <3 <3 <3

We got the box too...what a sigh of relief, I was getting so nervous that something was wrong!!  I am not good with this waiting thing though, probably the most impatient person in the world!  Not getting used to this "hurry up and wait" thing one bit!

I understand that one completely. I just keep telling myself,  ok, the box is here, in about 3 days give or take the letter will come and then I can start *doing* something because then it's time to start planning for the goal of PIR and the trip up to Illinois.  LOL
