Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Left yesterday!
Good Morning- I know many of you are feeling the same way I am this morning- My son arrived in Great Lakes last night. I was emotionally and physically exhausted from the six hours in the car to see him for 20 minutes while he did his final swearing in ceremony. I went to bed with my cell phone in hand waiting for that last phone call. I had fallen asleep for about 20 minutes when my phone rang and I was so panicked that I would hang up on accident that I wish I had said more to him. I had read posts from other Mothers who had already received that same call and in my mind I knew he might be stressed. So when he was stressed and I felt that I jumbled my words all together I felt even worse! Then I had a hard time going to sleep again. Then I was up 2 hours before my alarm clock this morning. ugh... I think I will be better knowing that he will be getting some sleep tonight....
I hope that all of the other Moms who are in the same place I am mentally and emotionally find some comfort today.... Thanks to you all for your support!

Got my call at 12:04 am. I too fell asleep waiting for the call. I was so excited to hear his voice.

I got my call last night too. I'm actually quite excited for my son. This is an adventure of a lifetime these young men and women. They will do well.

Got the call from my fiance at around 9pm last night. For some reason I felt like I needed to keep it short, so I ended up just saying a couple words and then bye. A couple minutes afterwards, I realized that I forgot to say "I love you". I'm still beating myself up about it.

Hi Navy Mama--At least you went to swearing in and I wish we had. he said there's no need for you to drive about 3 hours there "just for that". After it took place, my son texted "Sworn into the United States Navy". "It was less than 30 seconds but took all morning to happen". He said was no big deal but I could here the pride in his voice when he called.

I got the call from my husband last night at 9pm my time, 11pm their time. My son was screaming in the background, so I'm not sure if I heard correctly... box in a week and call in 3 weeks?

I got my call at 11 last night. I slept well after I heard his voice. He sounded tired. I was feeling guilty because I missed a text he sent from another recruit's phone at the airport, and by the time I saw it I knew it was too late to reply back, he would not see it. Now that I know he's safe and sound, my emotions have been more stable. I was a wreck Wednesday and yesterday.
