I have been enjoying reading the posts so far.  My son will be in BootCamp in July too!  Looking forward to getting to know some of you better.

Oh my goodness!  That is a big decision.  We were told our date might change...but so far it's holding steady.  Good luck and let us know what he decides!

He said yes to leaving but the June dates are full now so he is still leaving July 12. Can't say I'm disappointed to be keeping him until July. :)

I would feel the same way.  I am mentally prepared for our date...a new date would be challenging.  I will probably "see" you at graduation!  My son leaves the same week

Hi all! My son leaves July 5th and I still have no clue what to expect. Been trying to ignore the shaky jitters and no longer can. Don't get me wrong super excited and proud of my son, just Mom nerves and not looking forward to an empty nest. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Chelle, there is info for you in Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for... and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

I left info for you on your My Page.

Thank you so much!

You are very welcome.

Mine left yesterday, I am pretty shaky today and not looking forward to the empty nest either

Went to Navy Federal Credit Union today with my son to set up his account.  As usual I got the question, "How are you feeling, Mom?".  The answer is still excited but times where I am starting to get emotional.  He reports on 7/5 to leave on 7/6.  Today's visit to the bank was one of the last 30 days items checked off the list.  PS. I highly recommend your FSR gets an account with them.  The app they have is great, giving them a lot of options geared towards being deployed.  Putting holds on your account through the app (during BC) to help against fraud is an example.

My son will be leaving on July 6th, he is the baby of 4, and I completely understand what you all mean.  This will be an empty nest for the first time in almost 29 years...such a weird feeling, it is especially hard.

tina0327, I left info for you on your My Page.

My son leaves July 11. I've turned into a crybaby sap. I'm proud of him it I'm gonna miss him like crazy
