FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Son leaving in July

I have been enjoying reading the posts so far.  My son will be in BootCamp in July too!  Looking forward to getting to know some of you better.

My Son also left on the 11th. I missed his box on Friday. They should try to re-deliver today. I have been writing him everyday, even though I don't have an address to send them to yet. It seems to help me, I feel like I am talking to him.

My son leaves July 18. We are taking him to the hotel tomorrow between 3 and 6, and hopefully have dinner. I think we are ready. He is happy, but I am already missing him.

If it helps any I have been writing my son it seems every day, I had finally received a true address so everyday I have been sending him letters. I was so emotional when he first left, like the first week all I could do was cry....Things have gotten better since and I think making plans to go see him has gotten me out of that mode I was in...It does get better and speaking to all the moms on this website has made this experience way better!!! thanks to you all with the great information that is put out for all of us to see it helps so very much! and it nice to know I am not alone! Have a Great day Ladies!

My son left today. He had 3 hrs of free time before his flight departure. We were able to spend time with him at the airport's USO. I was very sad yesterday but it really helped being able to see him once more at the airport.
