Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This Group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of July(although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!
If you have July ship out issues/questions etc., need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in July, ...then this is the place to be. :-)
Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things to do in the last month before your future sailor leaves
(Click on the link)
Once your recruit has arrived at RTC, the next stop here is to join the group Boot Camp for Moms (and loved ones) Hangout and ask questions in this group until your form letter arrives.
Approx two to three weeks after your recruit arrives you will receive the "Form Letter". The form letter will include their Ship# , DIV #, their mailing address, PIR date, and the Security Access Form. The Security Access form needs to be completed and sent back to your recruit ASAP. Keep this letter in a safe place, it has the information you will need.
The date that is on the form letter is the official date for your Recruit's Training Groups PIR (graduation), Things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets.
After you have received the form letter, join the group for your recruits PIR. There you can ask questions about PIR, training, hotels etc. Those groups will be posted in the Boot Camp for Mom's group.
Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)
**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Fitness Standards"The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes 37 seconds for female recruits."

SheStampsAlot -- Age doesn't matter when you are talking about a Mother's Love. He can be 18 (like my son), 24 or 44. We miss them and worry about them. Take it week by week. Like someone said ... count the Fridays and it seems better. Hang In There
I sure wish we could just have a little peak at what they were doing day to day! I know that sounds creepy but if I could just see his face every now and then I would be okay. He only left on the 23. He is my oldest and is most likely one of the older ones at boot camp at the age of 24. BUT, it doesn't change how a momma feels. I will be so happy to have his address so I can start send him letters. I wrote one today and look forward to being able to send it.

HI, if anyone is interested... above is a link for a 3month calendar... i have a copy at my work & home and i'm sending one to my SR so she can count down as well.
knicky I have a few hours until my mailman delivers..trying to be patient but it seems extra hard today. I think I need sugar!!! hahaha i'm about to leave work an walk to raleys to buy me a donut..lol
Yes mixed emotions Jeanie... you'll get through!
My daughter left on the 22nd, I just received "the box" today. It has only been a few days so I wasn't at all prepared, I thought it would be next week sometime. Lots of emotions.
d2b2707: You know how amazingly happy I would be if that comes true! Gosh I hope it comes today, already so many letters...mostly about what movies are coming out soon, we loved to see the movies and went at least twice a month if good ones were on. We saw Pacific Rim the day before he left. We both loved it!
morning ladies... my daughter shipped out 7/17 no form letter yet. hang in there mamas! keeping my fingers crossed we'll get it today or least tomorrow!
I agree, that definitely helps. HE is very excited but I am the one that is a total mess about it! Plus I think he has started the "separation" process and is a little more distant now than I would like, but I know it is just his way of preparing to leave and I understand. I hope you and your son are doing ok and your profile pic is so cute! :)
ChristinaMarie I am the same way except my son shipped 07/17. I feel like I'm in a constant daze and can't get anything done. But...it helped knowing that this is what my son wanted to do and he was really excited, a little nervous, but really excited about going into the Navy. Knicky, I haven't gotten my letter yet either. I hope it gets here soon.
Andy 7/17 shippers get their forms yet? I got the box three days ago so I am hoping to see it soon. Already got some letters ready to mail from both me and my daughter. :)
I'm so glad I am not alone with the feeling like I am "losing my mind" thing! I try to work and for the past two weeks it is almost not worth even trying. I can't remember what was said to me 2 seconds ago and then I just start crying! Lol - everyone is very understanding though and they are very supportive. I have way too much on my mind and I am just not "here" right now... Thinking about how today, I only have 2 days left with my son. :(
