Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This Group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of July(although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!
If you have July ship out issues/questions etc., need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in July, ...then this is the place to be. :-)
Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...

Things to do in the last month before your future sailor leaves
(Click on the link)
Once your recruit has arrived at RTC, the next stop here is to join the group Boot Camp for Moms (and loved ones) Hangout and ask questions in this group until your form letter arrives.
Approx two to three weeks after your recruit arrives you will receive the "Form Letter". The form letter will include their Ship# , DIV #, their mailing address, PIR date, and the Security Access Form. The Security Access form needs to be completed and sent back to your recruit ASAP. Keep this letter in a safe place, it has the information you will need.
The date that is on the form letter is the official date for your Recruit's Training Groups PIR (graduation), Things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets.
After you have received the form letter, join the group for your recruits PIR. There you can ask questions about PIR, training, hotels etc. Those groups will be posted in the Boot Camp for Mom's group.
Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)
**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Fitness Standards"The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes 37 seconds for female recruits."

My son called very early Thursday morning to tell me he arrived. Luckily, I was able to take the call. I could barely let go of him the previous night after we had dinner with him in Jacksonville. I sobbed for about 30 minutes after, and my husband was a mess, too. I have been doing ok since then, that is until I went in to clean up his room and pack away some of his things. I realized he will never live with us again. Even though he will come to stay every no and again, it will never be permanent. All in all though, I feel I'm doing pretty well. I'm already starting letters to him and I am giving myself things to look forward to, such as his first letter home. I really appreciate everyone's support. I am so glad you all are here.
Who missed the "I'm here" call Tuesday night?..This mom here :(......I tracked the flight, saw that is was delayed and then when it landed...I figured, I'll give him an hour to call, and so when he did not, I figured, guess they are waiting for more SR's to come...so, I hopped in the shower....and....he called...he was able to speak with his dad n lil brother...I was actually doing "not too bad" when I dropped him off monday morning, but when I logged onto fb and saw this...My ninja since day one is gone. Like, I can't even explain how I feel. It just hit me... He's gonna go out in the world and I may not see him for a while. I won't be at his graduation because I'll be in school...I already miss that punk. I just realized I've been holding in these tears all day. Even though we didn't always get along, he's always been there for me no matter what. I love my brother so much. Who's going to come in my room and have a spontaneous dance part with me? Who's going to come wake me up in an obnoxious way? Who's going to cook me pancakes? Good luck in the future and go do what you do best: great things. I love you Zaya...from my 17 yr old college bound freshman.. I totally lost it...you would think by now with this being the 3rd child off to boot camp, I would be used to this....patiently waiting for the form letter to come to see which Div I will join...Hope everyone had a Happy and safe 4th
Hi my son just left for boot camp on july 1, 2014 he and I are really close and I am having a really hard time with him leaving. I know that he is in good hands and that what he is doing is a good career move for him but I have cried everyday since he left and when I talk about him I start crying more.. I feel like a big try baby is this normal cause its driving me crazy.. And does it get easier?
Miss Conception, thanks for sharing and best wishes to you.
