My son left the 27th and I haven't received my letter yet either. I try to stay busy. I love playing games on iPad and I binge watch Family Feud episodes. Makes me laugh and takes my mind off the fact that I can't reach out and talk to my only child. You could join a gym. Planet Fitness is really cheap and would give you a chance to interact with other people and benefit your health. Read a good book. Or, if you are involved in a church, join some women's groups. It will take your time and again, provide company. AND . . .you can always come here!
I feel your pain, my son is an only child too. Can't wait to get his first letter next week. Its been 17 days since I heard his voice,...for 32 seconds to be exact.
Kiki92- My son left June 29. He was able to send his first letter Sunday. I got it yesterday. They have to wait till 3rd sunday to send a letter. I think it also depends on if the 'Mail guy' for the division is doing well with his training. But in his letter, he tells me Ship 12 , div 265 will be calling home tomorrow morning, If your SR is in that group, have the phone near you tomorrow.
Kiki92, I got 2 letters. The first letter made me cry because it was written at the end of the first week and he was talking about how hard it was, how much he missed home . . . . Then the second letter was written last week and he sounded great, so grown up! He said he has been made section leader, could sense his team gaining momentum and coming together. I've never heard him talk like that! Still would like a phone call but for right this minute, the letters will do.
