Here is a calendar to keep track of when our loved ones leave for BC June 2011. Stole the idea from the Leaving in March group! I tried to go back through the site to get dates from those posted. Help me keep it updated! :)

Hi everyone and WELCOME to our newest moms/GF/loved ones!!! I think I've brought the calendar up to date, but as always, let me know if I've missed someone or messed something up! Congrats to all of those receiving boxes and letters...and for those that left last week, hopefully your box will come today or tomorrow and that will be one step you can check off your list. Usually the box beats the letter by 3-7 days, but you'll quickly learn that everything is a variable.
Lili - My SR was put into a Push Div which means he graduates in a faster pace, but it still is over 7 weeks from the day he left, so you are correct in thinking that 4 weeks is not right! Maybe he accidently said 7/something when he meant 8/something??? Your form letter may be here by late this week or early next week and that will have the correct PIR date.
As BtownSandy has shared with the group--remember BC is a process. If you get a down phone call or letter, don't stress too much. They are all in transition and your next letter can be completely different. My SR LOVED the first few weeks of BC and now that he's almost done, his letters are CRANKY, lol. I think they were supposed to be the opposite! :) Just keep writing them letters of support, tell them you know they can do it, you're proud of them, and you love them! Thank you for raising awesome kids!!!
well, got the ship and division but no PIR date
It should be Aug. 19, 2011 - go to Group PIR 08/19/11 Several others are in the same ship/div.
Hi Nan! We leave tomorrow morning for GL! My SR will go through BS21 tonight and should be a Sailor by this time tomorrow. :) We'll already be in Chicago by the time he is allowed to call us, and I'm a bit bummed because I know he's still going to be exhausted on Friday when we get to be with him. It has been a ride. He started off BC just loving it (seriously??? Those first weeks are not supposed to be fun!) His last letters have been filled with frustration. He's doing well, but living and working with the same group of people in close quarters has worn on him. In the last week, he's had fire fighting, the gas chamber, final PFA, and we haven't talked to him to see how any of it turned out. We will only have Friday with him and then will go to the airport on Saturday and sit with him...but I am SOOO looking forward to being able to talk to him and text him next week! That will be wonderful!!! :) Hang on ladies...it is a ride!
Driving. We are 5-6 hrs from Chicago so all of his siblings and significant others are attending so there will be 10 of us there. Two grandchildren get in w/o being on the list, but he was able to find 3 SRs with opennings on their lists to get the other 4 in as well. Phew! Since only 10 div are graduating that day, I was comfortable taking everyone, but this makes it easier as long as my kids remember the SR's name they are signed up under.
My son turned 21 yesterday. We had a toast for him last night with a beer and the neighbor. :)
