My oldest leaves June 14th, maybe they will be in the same group!!!
Hi, purpleqiraffe69
What job is your son going into? Where is your son flying out of? My sons job is OS. He will stays at GL also for A school after BC. This is a whole new adventure for me & my husband. We have no military in our families, so this was a big shocker. He said he dosen't want to go right back into school and also didn't know what he wanted to do. I'm proud and happy of him and know this will be a very good experience for him. I'm just going to miss him a lot. He is my only child, I'm trying very hard to keep it together. Some days are better than others. Thank GOD for N4M!
My son leaves from Charlotte, NC. He is going to IS school (intelligence specialists) at Dam Neck, VA for 6 months. We are both Navy, and did the same as him, left right out of high school. My son was born on a navy base in Japan 18 years ago! My son pulled his application to the Naval Academy last fall and decided to go enlisted first, i think he had a good shot of getting in, but he wants to travel first. He has already traveled to Japan at 16 for a 3 week ambassador trip, and he loved it. He is my oldest of the 6 kids, so i have plenty to keep me busy while he is gone. I am actually used to him leaving me a lot (Right now he has been down at his dads for 7 weeks, comes home next week to walk the stage for graduation then leave for boot) so i will be sad, but I know he will have a great time like we did. There is a lot of info on Navy4moms, so i look forward to sticking here while he is gone.
yeah, i think they try to put the A school kids together, when i went thru bootcamp many moons ago, i was in school with 4 other CTM's, we ended up being roommates in pensacola together at A school. I will tell mine to ask around about other IS's so they can get to know each other.
we just had a going away party tonight, so much fun, i am so very excited for him, but also sad he is leaving.
I cried a lot on the 13th, but on the 14th i was kinda ok because i knew he was just at MEPS and then flying. I got the call last night about 1015pm our time, i couldn't sleep last night, because i KNOW exactly what the next 48 hours are going to be for him, I told my hubby i can't take that they are yelling at him , he told me to cut the apron strings he will be fine. men! I guess we should get the box next week, and the form letter the next week. then we can start mailing our letters! We can do this!!! :)
My son leaves from Columbus, on Monday.
My son left GA for the Great Lakes on the 13th as well!!!!
I got "the call" on June 14th night but he went down to MEPS on june 12th. He is signed up for Corpsman. I got my call a little after yours on the 14th. Its officially been a week with him gone now for me.
