I can relate.  We have 4 sons and our first went away to Bible School in New York 12 hours away, but he comes home for Christmas break, spring break ect...I can call him on my phone or text, facebook.  But son number 2 left june 12 for bootcamp and no contact except for the 30 second phone call saying he made it there.  Oh my, this is going to be harder than I thought.  Got the box, but no address to send mail to yet.

Hey Deanna! You have 4 sons, too? Isn't it wonderful? I couldn't ask for anything more than these great kids. My son Austin, who went to BC from Lansing June 12, is also my 2nd son, We also got our box - wow. It was kind of sad. I keep thinking of how things around here will change. My oldest son is at MSU, but will be at Duke or Wyoming next year. It's crazy, but I loved the busy, hectic, crazy days when they were young! They were tiring, and sometimes frustrating, but I wouldn't trade it for a million dollars.

We are in Jackson, not too far from you! It helps to know that there are other Moms out there who are feeling the same emotions...

Hi Laura~

Yes we were at MEPS in Lansing on June 12 to see Ethan off.  It was a sad/happy day.  So proud of him, but sad when we got home.  It was a little like torture spending those last few hours with him until he left.  We were there with our youngest 2 boys also.  We just sat in the cafeteria playing games til after lunch and then the family waiting room until they called "all the Navy recruits".  Final hugs and that was it.

Having 4 sons is great.  I love boys, lots of noise and fun.  We are in Charlotte.

My daughter shipped out of Richmond VA Wednesday with five other recruits.  She will be AECF so will be staying in GL for A school (meaning the winter . . brrrr).  I have lived vicarously through this site all thru DEP.  THank goodness because I was much more prepared.  Fortunately she programmed a test to come before the 7 sec "cold" call so she could say what she really wanted to say . . .started heavy waterworks for sure! :)  I guess we just all hang tight and get to that PIR!

My son left June 13th.

hello~ my son left for bootcamp from Lansing Michigan on June 12, 2012 and we got "the box" on Friday June 15.  Now waiting for the form letter with his address.  Patiently of course!  (haha) He will be doing his "A" school @ Great Lakes.  We are pretty sad around here with his empty room and everything, but are excited for our son at the same time.

My son left June 12th from texas. I havent got the box or the letter yet, but was happy to get the phone call letting me know he was there.
My son left June 13th from Pittsburgh. He is also a Nuke.
My two sons left California on June12th. They are attending A school in South Carolina. I received one box on Friday and I should get the other box on Monday. Fed Ex had to call to verify our address?! so, the chaos and waiting begin. Keeping my chin up

My son left on June 12th from Cleveland, OH. Where did yours leave from?

One left from San Jose and the other from Sacramento. Sacramento is home.

My son left June 12th from FL, although he is from KY (where I live).  No box as of Saturday.  I've already written 3 letters using the addy I received from his recruiter in Orlando.  I'm eager for the box.....just the scent of him...is that crazy?  Once the box arrives I will see about getting his cell phone deactivated.  He is Ship 7, Div 243.
