Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Hello my name is Rubie and my first born just went to Boot camp today. I received the script call I made it okay call. It made my night to hear his voice and tell him i love him, but now what am I to wait for. I already wrote one letter tonight even though he just left today. And it may sound crazy I know, but just like many mothers and fathers. I already miss my kid like crazy.

That is Correct they are to purchase the photos themselves. I will put the site down they are pretty expensive but you can reimburse your Loved Ones if that is what you would like to do.

Division T-Shirts, Graduation Photos, The Keel, and DVD of PIR

I sent an email that was sent to me for navigation. Hope it helps you. It's definitely helped me a lot that Phoenixmom sent me.

The recruits pay for the pics using their NEX card or other funds or a loved one can pay for them following PIR. The cost of the pics is no longer deducted from their pay. There is info on the pics and more in Division T-Shirts, Graduation Photos, The Keel, and DVD of PIR.

Thank you!

You are not alone...my only kid, my son left June 12th.  It is very emotional...I never knew I could be so proud and then sad at the same time.  It does get easier...when you get the box in a week it is another happy sad.   I hugged his shirt.  I have found comfort in writing letters.  My son had a snap chat account and had streaks with friends and asked me to continue while he is gone.  It has helped...his friends send me messages.   I asked them all to snap a picture with a message and I am sending him a letter with all the messages from his friends...when I get the letter which is probably in another week.  These ladies on here are wonderful and here is lots of information...I got comfort in knowing what to expect.   Hugs to you and I will keep you and your son in my prayers.

I can't wait to get his box so that I could also go on his Facebook and ask his friends to leave a message for him so that I can print it out and send it with my letters that I have already written for him.

My son is not my only son, I have one more that will be 16 soon. He is just my fear of being a mother first so I have this strong bond with him. Im sure its like all mom's on here.

It's nice having all you ladies on here for encouragement and support. Hugs to you as well and I will have you and your son in my prayers as well.
