My son left June 9 for basic.  Does anyone have a loved one that has signed up for Navy Diver Training?

Hi ethan's mom, my son signed up for Navy Diver Training and he left for Great lakes yesterday. Do you have any questions or concerns? Where are you from? We are in Illinois, close to Great Lakes so if you need any info about the area I can get it to you. And I also have a newphew in A school at Great Lakes who keeps me up on stuff.

So happy to know someone that has a son at the same place as Ethan.  I have cried off and on all day..... I did not think this would be sooo hard.  I live in Oklahoma-Ethan is 19. How old is your son and what made him decide to go with Navy Diver?  I do not know anything about the training after bootcamp.  Do You?  Ethan has not been away from home much so I know the adjustment for him is going to be as big as the one my family is going through adjusting to not having him here.  Was your son excited and nervous about leaving home?  How are you doing? I am so happy to have someone to share the journey of sons in  basic and training together.. Thanks for your reply and any info. will be appreciated.

Shelley

My son has a contract for Special Ops Navy Diver.  He reported to RTC June 6th.  He will complete basic and pre-dive training at Great Lakes and then to Panama City, FL (our home!) for dive training.

My son left for BC on June 6th with a Navy Diver contract.  I also live in Oklahoma in Edmond.  Where in Oklahoma are you from?  I am wondering how they determine ones graduating group, is it all the people that arrive on the day that they check-in or it is several days of men and women arriving?

The 800 series division number indicates they are divers or special ops9 is what I was told. Tthey are grouped together apart from the other SRs because they have more intense training and conditioning and PT requirements that the others due to the nature of their rating.
