Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Son leaves June 7
My son has been a DEPer since about August. He ships off on June 7. This has seemed so foreign and almost removed until about a month ago. I'm so nervous, scared and excited for him. Its hard not to break down in tears as I watch him go through normal routines for the last time and at the same time I cannot wait to get the I'm a sailor call. I am so gratefuly for this site... I have been able to pick up so much information. :)

I dropped my son off at the recruiters office an hour ago.... We're on our way to Sacramento and get the evening with him and he swears in tomorrow morning. My house already feels so empty. We had some great bonding time last night. I'm grateful he's ready for this... Gives me strength!

Hi there Sasysweet! My son also left for Boot Camp on June 7th. Maybe they will end up n the same company. I'm still leaning to navigate this site and everything is so informative. I haven't broken down yet. When reading one of the posts about what happens when they first arrive; I found myself teary worried about him eating that night. I am very proud of his decision to join the U.S. Navy

It's nice to meet the mamas that are going through this at the same time... We had a great time at the swearing in. They even let us sit in on the briefing which I'm not sure if it made me feel better knowing what was going or or worse knowing they'd have to navigate the airport and transfers by themselves! Lol I was worried about my son making the right gate lol I held it together pretty well at meps but broke down yesterday at home when I walked into his room and smelled him. I miss him, but have this enormous swelling pride that I feel!! I absolutely cannot wait to hear from him and hear all that he has experienced. <3

My son left June 7th as well, 19 just graduated high school. This place has been amazing for information so far, made me laugh when we got the box with the rolled up jeans(then I cried).

I wasn't even expecting it so soon, and I was doing good that day lol! We got ours sat. were in az thought it was quick. Its bitter sweet I think, just keep telling myself this is what he wanted.

My son is also 19... I've been a mess of emotions. Except for when I was deep cleaning his room this weekend!! Lol I was thinking "Gosh I sure am not missing him right now!!" Lol I can't wait to get his box though... Hopefully today if you got yours already Rachel... And the letter soon after! I'm anxious to book my flight! :)
