Hi 1ProudMom - My son is leaving Tuesday March 5th - headed to San Diego and then leaving from there Tuesday, so I presume they'll enter BC the same time.
I also started a similar thread - Tiffany's son is also leaving at that time.
My son is a nuke. I have another son who is a Marine - we survived BC over a year ago :)
Both my boys will be gone for about two years - it's difficult!
Juliebelle - thanks for your message. I got my call this evening that she arrived safely. Have you heard from your son?
Got my call Wednesday about 7 their time.
I hope today went well for you 1ProudMom. Just remember you are her support system, and we are here for yours. :)
Fishingurl - I'm so thankful for the support!
Hi Proud Mom! My daughter left from San Diego this morning, they must be together. Just got my call that she was there!! Now we guess we wait!! Let's stay connected!!
All our kids are there together...NICE... I'm planning my trip to PIR already..My husband usually has to put his vacation request's in December for the year..Crazy so I am trying to figure out PIR..then getting to Pensacola to see him..Plus my daughters play lacrosse and have games and clinics....BUT the good thing is we have here to vent...
Hi,
My son left for bootcamp from Los Angles,CA on March 7th! After some delays at the airport (which allowed for some nice extra phone calls and text messages) they finally made their way to IL. I received a call at 11:30 PST that he had arrived and that he may be able to call again in a couple of weeks. I wish I would have taken advantage of this site and learned more before he left, but I was just tying to spend as much time with him as I could and take him to places he wanted to go before he left. He will be going to Nuke school in SC after BC...I knew this was going to be hard, but whew! I just miss him so much! Going onto this site and reading other stories has been so helpful the past 2 days. Last night I read from this site for 3 hours because I could not sleep. Never been more proud of him, but cannot wait until I hear form him! God bless you all!
My son left that time also (from San Diego), and is also a Nuke! It would be cool if they end up in the same division, right?
Welcome prayin'navymom! My daughter was clearly crying when she called me and that was tough. I miss my girl! Hopefully we can stay in touch and walk through this BC journey together!
Hi 1ProudMom,
Thank you for he welcome!
Oh boy....I bet that was tough to her your girl crying. Whew! Brett had a long delay on the 7th at the airport so we were able to talk a lot more than we thought we were allowing us to get some of those nerves taken care of, but I am sure stepping off that bus was a shock to all of them! There is just nothing easy about this waiting to hear thing and wondering what group they are in etc...., but talking about it and reading about it helps for sure! Would love to stay in touch! This is a very exciting journey they are on for sure!
Take Care, smile n' God bless!
