OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

Army/Navy, Recruits ship Monday through Thursday every week unless it is a holiday (or the holiday stand down around Christmas).

Check your My Page.

My son is leaving on 3/27 as well...heading to Great Lakes.

The Navy's only Boot Camp is in Great Lakes.

My son left yesterday as well.  Got the call from him at 10:52 last night.

6kiddos4me, welcome to the next part of the journey. I left info for you on your My Page.

Well he's at meps and heading to GL tomorrow...he's nervous but after all day of crying I am thankful I could still speak and text him so day! I suppose tomorrow ill be able to up till evening hours...this is hard! Ive been the recruit and now I'm on the family side and THIS side is way way way more emotional and horrible! Its good to know how truly busy the SR are and well taken care of instead of counting every single second like we are on the outside....
My son left from Tampa yesterday. Balled my eyes out. Just when I had gotten myself together, I got the call and off I went again! Haven't found anyone else with my ship date yet, but I am glad I have found people from Florida.

My son is on his way to MEPS right now. I am leaving in a little while to see him sworn in. We are in Arizona.

Kbpoohbear whereabouts in AZ? Are you heading downtown on Central ave?

Sorry, I havent turned my texts back on. Yes, Central Ave. I got my call at 1130 last night.
