My husband arrived at BC on 3/14 and I called his recruiter yesterday to get his address. Found out he is in Ship 09 Div. 145. Is there anyone else who has found out their loved one is in this group? I haven't received the box and form with his PIR date, but I would very much enjoy talking to people on the same time frame as me. It has been lonely and quite sad for me and the kids since he has been gone :0(

Hey Jessica!

My son left on 3/13 and I got his box today via FedEx.  I know what you mean about missing them.  I find this first week getting harder instead of easier; but I hope that will pass.  I will hope to get form letter and find out my son's ship/div early next week - most say the letter is day or so later than the box arrival.

I have tried to stay busy at work and writing him letters so that I will be ready when is address arrives.

Wishing you luck and patience to get through this time til you can see your husband.  I bet he will be so glad to see you all too at the other end of this separation.

Take care and I will try to check back when I find out my son's assignment.

Oh finally someone lol! I have a one year old daughter who demands plenty of attention but I have some how managed to spend all of my time cooped up in our little apartment, as I have no babysitter and cannot have a job. It seems as if every hour that passes is a day in my mind. I keep remembering his 41 second phone call I received when he arrived at BC. He said "This is it baby, miss you, love you, and this is the last call for 3 weeks". All in that moment my heart was in my throat, my lungs stopped working, I was terrified beyond belief, and my tear ducts got a great work out. It is starting to get easier, but I know when I receive "The Box" today as most already have (they are always late here) it is going to be painful. I sent him his second letter today and both me and my one year old kissed it with lip gloss on :0), that is sure to bring a smile to his face. Thank you very much Kim for responding, it is great to know that there is someone out there who is on the same time frame as we are. I will be checking back frequently too as I have been glued to this site for 2 days now lol. All my prayers and best wishes to you and yours. -- Jessica D

My son arrived 3/13.  His box came today.  Don't know his ship or division yet.  I started a daily log/diary of sorts, jotting thoughts and activities down several times a day.  NCAA tournament results, how his horses are doing, all the blooms on the bushes and trees, anything that comes to mind that will help him feel he is still a part of the routine here.  I hope we have his address soon.

I'm not sure if it is the same for parents as it is for spouses, but it is sure worth a shot. You can call his recruiter or the local navy office and ask what his address is so that you can send letters. In the address is his ship and division numbers. I hope this helps, and works :0) This is what I did on the 15th. Good luck and best wishes!

hey everybody

my son got to gl on 3/12.  we got his box today and his phone call at 5 a.m. on tuesday morning.  I am writing letters and updating him on daily life.  I am like ya'll, i miss his laugh and just everything about him. but i know he is finally getting to do what he wants.  he has been waiting for a little over a year to finally get there.

rlmb - love to hear from you when you have your box and form letter.  my son's stuff arrived today.  so thankful to have an address finally! and PIR date!  ;-)

Happy Saturday everyone!

I am off to spend day with the daughter.  I think she knows I need some kid time and she is not busy with college life today.  we are hitting the horse supply store and having lunch with some old friends.  hope that will distract me from the waiting for the letter business.  I want to try and wait on the letter from him and see what he has to say before I get his address from recruiter and start mailing.  If it doesn't get here Monday, I might not be able to hold out!  :-)

I hope you all are hanging in there.  I had a rough day and hubby brought me a dozen red roses to make me smile.  Definitely a winner and made me feel like at least he understands my roller coaster emotions.

Talk to you all later -

Have a great St Patty's Day

Kim

That is very sweet of your daughter, and husband :0) I have had a very close friend stay the night with me every night since, my husband left, and a couple other friends visit. It has been nice to have other adult conversation. Movie nights almost every night after my little girl goes to bed. By the way if any of you enjoy renting fom red box there are coupon codes for free movies :0) they are "BREAKROOM" and "DVDONME" I have to say these have been wonderful over the past few nights. I wouldn't recomend getting The Rum Diary or Young Adult, they are very low income boring movies lol. I waited all day yesterday for "The Box" to come but it never did. Which may be a good thing for emotional purposes. Hope everyone is having a great weekend, and a happy St. Patty's Day!

Jessica D. My Husband arrived in Great Lakes on 3/14. Still awaiting the Box, and the form letter to find out his address to send letters.

Still waiting myself :0( You can call his recruiter for address. Maybe they are in the same division. I am really starting to miss him this evening! Can't believe it has only been 5 days. I'm ready to get hugs and kisses now! lol. Guess we just have to get used to it though. Way of life and all.

I think If I don't see anything by Monday, I will be going to the recruiter's office.  Every time I call, they don't seem to like to answer the phone, Funny, they must know its me calling ;)

@Fishingurl04 - I hope we all hear something in mail today from our SR's.  Would make my week to get that form letter and have a "plan".  I hope we can all go to PIR and meet while there.  My husband and I are definitely planning to attend as things stand and barring any issues with work/illness etc.

Look forward hearing everyone's PIR date when you get them!

Kim
