Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Ship to GL 3/11/15
WOW!!! I can't believe this is really happening. My son ships out to GL Wed 3/11!!! He wasn't supposed to leave til May. Two weeks ago he got the call moving him up. I think I was cheated. These last 2 weeks have went by like 2 days. I will miss him terribly but the pride I have in him and respect for all these recruits will make it better!

My son leaves Thursday, and we've known since September but it still has gone by way too fast. I've been good and not had any crying spells in front of him, but it's getting harder. Enjoy your last few days, as we are, and I'll probably see you at graduation...lol

LOL, I've not cried in front of him yet either. But he knows I've had a couple spells. The forced change of date is a good thing, I know. He is ready... nervous of course but ready. I'm looking forward to reading these blogs/comments and feeling the support of everyone. HOOYAY!

I haven't cried yet and tomorrow we go to Ft. Hamilton to see him sworn in and then he flies out to GL. I am so proud of him and he is almost making it easier because he is so grown up and responsible. Tomorrow I think I will cry, but I think he will expect that. All I keep telling myself is that he is doing something awesome that not too many people have the courage to do.

I'm ready for the next stage to be over so I can see him again...lol. My husband says he feels cheated because he was a marine and his boot camp was so much harder, but times have changed and it's not the mid '90's anymore...lol. I will gladly take phone calls home ANYTIME!

Oh you are so not alone, fiddlesticks with how you feel. And neither is your son. There's been quesy tummies and sleepless nights here too! But he's boarding plane to Chicago as we speak! Our job is done and all of us Navy parents should be proud!!! HOOYAH!

Just dropped my son off at the recruiting office where he'll go to a hotel and stay overnight before leaving tomorrow. Feeling numb and tired.

I'm right there with you. Kinda scared to go home and see all his stuff everywhere. We are going to see him off tomorrow after swears in. I'm sure it will really hit me then, or next week when I'm at home by myself and can't pick the phone up to call him.

I know just how you feel. But we will get through it all together and when we do and RTC is over our sons will be completely different people that we will be even more proud of. Hang in there.
