My son is leaving on Nov. 3rd. 2009. He is going into the Nuke program. He just turned 19 in Sept. He says he is ready to get on with the rest of his life and is very enthusiastic about serving his country. I'm very sad and proud at the same time. It will be very hard to let him go. Thank you for this chance to talk to other people going thru this.
Hi Kelly,

My son is also leaving on the 3rd, but doesn't offically report to BC until the 4th. I wonder if they will be in the same company. It would be great to have someone in the same boat. Mike is turning 20 on Sunday and is also going into the Nuke program also. Hopefully we can be in contact to share information if and when it becomes available.

Good luck over the next few days!!

Mary
Hi Mary,

That would be great if they were together and we could keep each other posted and updated on things. Happy Birthday to your son! We're having Thanksgiving today for Nick. I can't believe it's almost time for him to go. It's going to be so different around here. I'm excited and sad. We'll get thru it tho and should feel blessed that we raised such good boys.

Will you be going to MEPS to watch him being sworn in on Wednesday? I assume that they go to the same place since you're from Illinois. We'll be there!

Good luck to you!
Kelly
Hi Kelly, my son shipped out on the 25th of this month and will also be heading to Charleston, SC for the Nuke program. Would love to stay in touch. My son is 22 and so ready to be a nuke... lol We are from the Seattle, Washington area. Penny

My son leaves Nov. 11 for GL. He will be in the cryptology division. Counting the days with both dread and enthusiasm for him to start this new chapter in his life. He is my youngest child and only son. I appreciate all the support at this site. I know you are all going through the same emotions and worry. Thanks all.
My son is leaving on Nov 3rd from home (Buffalo, NY) but flying to gl on Nov 4, 2009. I can't believe how the summer has flown by - he seems very excited about beginning this part of his life and making a future for himself. He is my only child though so I am having many many mixed emotions...I am very proud of him but know I will miss him deeply.
