Good morning! My son has filled out his paperwork for his request to leave earlier if something opens up. He has been told the chance of leaving earlier is good. His best friend flies out tomorrow for boot camp. He is like family so we are really happy for him and nervous too. This is all the boys have been talking about all weekend. At this point, we have some time before October and going to enjoy every minute with him and our family. He is the first in my family to go into the military. I am very excited for my son but have moments of fear. It is nice to be able to communicate with other moms.

My daughter is leaving Oct. 6th. She's excited, I'm nervous. LOL

I am nervous too. It is so far away from where we live. He has never been that far away from home so I am a little scared but hope he will make friends to help get through this.

Hi there Tammy what state do you live in, I am hoping to get acquainted with some other navy moms! My son is also on a waiting list as of now he is scheduled to leave on October 6 it seems so far away but I know it will be here before we know it. We are in Nebraska but we are moving to North Dakota in July.

We are from New Mexico. Yes it is a ways out but just like his senior year flew by, I know these next months will too fly by. Wow North Dakota, never been that far north.

Hi does your son know what job he will be doing?

My son's job is aviation ordinance man I'm so nervous but so proud I'm hoping I can meet some parents prior to graduation.

CherrieJo, I left info on AO on your My Page.

Wow Nikkie the 6th...That's 3 days!  My daughter leaves the 13th and I thought that seemed really soon.

Today was hard!! How you doing?

Hello everyone, I can't begin to say how thankful for all of the wonderful information I have found here. My son leaves on Oct 4th and I am feeling proud, excited and of course sad because it will be the first time my son will be away from family.... I know that he will be in great hands, from what I read the Navy will be an extension of his family. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and creating new relationships.

My daughter leaves Oct 6th.  This is my second time around...
