My boyfriend of a year and ten months this Wednesday left this morning to go to MEPS in NOLA. He flies out to Chicago tomorrow afternoon. I'm sick to my stomach thinking of how I won't be able to see him or love on him whenever I want. No one around me understands just exactly what we're going through, so I'd love some communication from those who do. His A-school is in Pensacola which is about two hours from me, so I'm excited to see him them. But anyway....

My name is Amy and I need friends. ha.

Hi Amy - hang in there!  Remember the time will go by at a snails pace for you but for your boyfriend boot camp will fly by.  In no time he will be graduating and you will get to see him!  My son leaves on 10/23 - I've been on N4M since January and have gotten lots of valuable information.  Stay strong and send him lots of positive letters!  (Soon I will be in your shoes and I will be asking for encouragement from you!)  Hang in there girl......it's ok to cry but be strong when you talk/write to him.  We are all here for each other.  Debbie

Thank you very much! I'm trying to stay strong and enjoy these last few hours of communication with him before he starts processing. I'm just nervous of how our relationship will end up like after he graduates. I won't be able to make it to his PIR because I am in nursing school and can't miss days. His family can't afford to fly up there either so he won't have any support that day. It makes me really really upset. I feel like I have to be there and I can't..

you are not alone Amy. Your boyfriend is my son so believe me I understand. Just remember we are here for each other.

I'm so happy that he has such a great support system. He needs you more than anyone.

Hey Lady!

I'm in the same boat (harhar). My boyfriend of nine months left today. God, the crying. I'm even now waiting for that 15 second scripted call. No one around me understands either - how can they? But we'll get through this. Best advice I've heard so far - write positively, and think of it as 8 Sundays instead of 60 days. Hopefully it'll go by faster than we think. Good luck!

I got the scripted call at 1:15 this morning could hear the officers in the background yelling at the guys i almost wish i wouldnt have gotten that call

My boyfriend of 3 and a half years just left too! well actually, he flies out tonight, but he's been gone since last night. I know what you're going through. We live in Massachusetts, and his A school is in Mississippi. Is anything working for you? I thought I had this all planned out and under control but I've been crying since he left last night. Your not alone!

We live in MS i am guessing his A school is in gulfport ? That is only about 30 minutes from us

I think it's in Meridan. I'll be making a long drive out there that's for sure.

oh that is about 3 hours from where we live but a long way from you :( i am glad my son will be in Pensacola so I can go see him. From what I have been told he wont actually be able to leave for a weekend to come home for several weeks after he gets to A school.

Wow... I understand this completely.  My fiance' left on Wednesday.  I was able to go to the MEPS station to see him off.  We talked.  I saw him sworn in.  He ate lunch, and then I had to say goodbye.  Today was hard for me.  At times, I feel like I can't breathe.  I wrote my first letter to him event though I don't even have his address yet.  I am planning to use work, LSAT preparation, wedding planning, and working out as my distractions.  I miss my best friend!!!

Haha, I wrote my boyfriend a letter last night too, even though he's been gone for only 3 days and i don't have his address either. Good to see none of us are alone in this.
