Hey Ashleigh - try to go to the library, take out Honor, Courage and Commitment - it may ease your fears of the unknown, Im on chapter 9 and its gives a lot of great information about BC. the author was given unpresidented access, and spent 8 weeks with a brother/sister division.
great..we'll be praying for you ...is your mom on here?
make sure you have your hair cut short enough so they won't chop on it when you get there...they don't exactly cut to make it a nice style.
hah yes my hair is super short now :( it awful. but my mom is waiting for approval. and settin it up for her. she'll need all the support she can get. she isnt very good with computers :( bless her heart, but im helpin her. :) haha.

thank you, i will definately do that :)
Ashleigh-we will be here for her! You have done your share to let us in on the recruit's perspective which I really appreciate, and I know that all of us will be totally supportive of your mom.

Is she able to use your account at all right now? I notice sometimes the kids have used their mom's account, maybe you all could work it the other way. What's her name so we know to look for her?

I am going to keep all of the kids on this site in my prayers with some overtime that first week you guys are gone.
Nancy
Ashleigh, I just wanted to say I have really enjoyed having you with us and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers while you are at BC. I look forward to meeting your mom when she gets here and we will all help her learn the site. I am so proud of you. Kathy
Wow, busy beavers. I will never be able to keep up here. lol
Betsy, I know I am late but have a safe trip back to NM. I cried when you said it would be your last drive back with your son. I look forward to sharing BC with you.
Nancy, The Residence Inn sounds like a good idea. I am making my reservations today.
I will check out the scarf at target. Pink, right? I can't believe this is the last weekend before he leaves. Lately it has been hard to even think what to write here. I hope it gets better when he gets to BC. I guess it is the anxiety that makes it hard to put my thoughts down here. Words are just not coming as easily as before. I didn't think it would be this hard to see him leave. It is one thing to talk about it but when it is happening like right now it is so different. I just want to thank you all for your laughter and everyday comments as well as the information about the navy that you provide. You are an amazing bunch of gals. "Hugs" to all of you. Kathy
Kathy-we were going to order it online. I put the link on here, a couple of pages back by now, so that we could all order the same one (do I sound a tad bit anal???) AND of course to make it easier for us. I haven't ordered mine yet, but will get to it this afternoon. I am teaching intersession..kind of a summer school for year-round schools, and am on a short break right now. Bell will ring anytime!!

I have a sick feeling in my stomach when I think about him leaving. I think that is why I am making such a huge effort to get him prepared...and though I think he is NOT as ready as I would like, it IS his life and he will make it through one way or the other...OK bell rang...be back later. LOL
Trying to make hotel reservations near MEPS and can't even dial without a lump in my throat today; keep hanging up the phone.
Awww. Lori, this is so much harder than we ever thought it would be. Take a deep breath and I know you will be able to get through it. The reasons our sons are so brave is because their Mommy's are too :) Susan
hi all, I'm Ashleigh's mom. She finally got me on here. She is also leaving on Oct. 25th. I noticed that one of you mentioned the hotel you were going to make reservations at. Do you have a list of hotels in the area that are recommended for boot camp graduation weekend?

Okay, so Ash just told me that you've already talked about the different hotels. So, I guess I'll just read through what you all already wrote. Jeanne
Welcome Jeanne - Its about time! we have been waiting for you. - first off let me tell you, you have a fine young women there, you did a wonderful job, Ashleigh has been great, its nice to hear the different perspective, my son barely talks (lol), I asked him yesterday - Are you excited? - Yeah.... Lori - I too had a lump in my throat, booking the hotel room for MEPS.. Anyone else planning to be in Staten Island on the 25th?

So the Hotel is Residence in Waukegan correct? -
