I thought it would be nice to start a discussion for our children leaving the week of October 25th 2010.  Welcome everyone.  Kathy

Hi Susan, that is a wonderful idea. We will meet here Monday night and share the day. Yes, they can have watches just not expensive, maybe plastic or fake leather. Someone said they should be dark, you know, not flashy. I am jealous, mexican food, love it. You are so right about how hard it is on our young people leaving and going to a strange place. Our sons especially hide their fears from us and part of it is so we don't worry and fawn all over them. They want to be strong for us. I am so proud of you for not crying while you were out but I understand how hard it is. Monday night though, it will be ok to cry. No webcams here. Hugs. Kathy
Susan, I love the idea of meeting and ahbeing emotions. It's so much better to be able to share. We can be there for you and then a couple of days later you can help us pt. Then r can all wait together. I have not heard of anyone here with a child leaving after the 28th, have you?

We are in the car driving to see Ian over the weekend and have his family party on Sunday. We'll see how this works on the phone!
Nancy
Nancy, this is our week and we are all going to be here for all of us. Hugs for you. I haven't heard of anyone leaving this week after the 28th. Next week in November children are leaving. I also don't think anyone has left since the week of the 4th of October. I don't know how we can be in a push divison if the last two weeks there has been no one leaving. Something to think about. My son just downloaded Skype and was talking and seeing his friend online. That was so cool. I know one mom that talks and sees her son at school in CA and uses Skype. It is like having them in the room with you. All you need is both people to be on Skype at the same time. Have fun at the party. Make memories. Kathy
Nancy, The latest I have heard was the 27th. Susan
I forgot to mention, Jenny whose son PIR on 7-9-10 wrote to me and said make sure they get the picture package, yearbook, and the dvd of the graduation. I think she said they ask them about that towards the beginning of BC. Jenny said those memories are precious and when they are at A school we can look at them. Talk to you later. Kathy
I think I read somewhere they want package A.are any of you with two families thinking about 2 packages?
Nancy
Here is some info about photos, keel, dvd and prices

Thanks Jessica!
Betsy, you are brilliant. After boot camp and all the kids are on their way lets make a group called "The Basket Club". We can all share what everyone is doing and where the children are. I have seen this happen to other Moms who had PIR the same time. I am so proud that you didn't break down with the neighbor. Did you really call your husband and wake him up? I don't blame you. There are times that we really need our other half. This is definitely one. I better go to sleep now. Lord knows it will be hard in two days. Hugs. Kathy
Kathy,

That is a wonderful idea. We will want each other's support, friendship and help just as much later, as we do now. I plan on being here for a long time.

Yes, I did wake him. But, in my defense, it was 6:30p.m. here, which meant it was only 8:30p.m. there. Who goes to bed that early? LOL

He is flying in today, so hopefully he will have on his happy face. I sure hope so.

Betsy
Great idea! And if we do our own basket group we can make private chat area! Does this mean we are "basket cases?" lol

Since there are no kids going after the 27th, that we know of, I think it increases the chance of our kids ending up together!

Shopping for tomorrow's party today! Busy! Busy!
Nancy
Nancy,

Have fun shopping. I loved preparing for Adam's party. If you don't have time to get on here tomorrow. I hope all goes well and I can't wait to see the pictures.

Betsy
