I thought it would be nice to start a discussion for our children leaving the week of October 25th 2010.  Welcome everyone.  Kathy

I need to read that one. I read Letters From Boot Camp last night. I will start HCC tomorrow. Susan
I have read half of Eagle, haven't started HCC yet. I will say that I read Letters last night, very quick read. It was very enjoyable and the writer is so funny I caught myself laughing quite a bit. Maybe tonight would be a good night to laugh? Susan
It's great to know they can call from the bus. Ian's brother told me today that Ian was so torn between me and his father (although we did work out the girlfriend scenario). I just called him and told him about the calls from the bus and he sounded pretty relieved. I told him some of the kids had been up since 3:00 AM, and his response was, "Woah!." but then again, he said he knew that might happen. I told him to SLEEP on the plane, he will have around 5 hours in the air!!
Nancy
I love it! They are still our little boys getting excited about window seats. Drew slept about 30 mins he said. Better than nothing I guess! Susan
Well, at least they will all be zombies together tonight and tomorrow. lol

Betsy
lol, Betsy, that said it all. Now WHERE is my phone call. I should call his recruiter and ask when his plane left. At least I would have some idea. lol Kathy
Praying you get it soon. I know its driving you crazy. Since he doesn't have his cell it might take awhile??? I sure hope not! Susan
I second that.
The phone rang and I jumped to answer it and it was somebody telling me how to vote. I got off there quickly.
Wendi
Ugh! How dare they call you tonight.

I'm sure you will hear something soon.

Betsy
Wendi, if they call me about voting I am definitely not voting for that person, lol. I hope we get our phone calls soon. The recruiter said it is sometimes at 2:00 or later. It is 9:27 here. ugh. Kathy
OK I just got another phone call from Drew. I guess the bus call was a bonus because this was the official call. He was so nervous and every other word was "UMMM". Poor kid. I'm glad I had the other call too because this one was not fun for him. Susan
OK that made me laugh. I could tell it was such a struggle to get it out. I think he actually said "I, umm, made it to, ummm ummm umm the Navy ummm boot camp place". Yes I think he said "boot camp place". I just wanted to tell him that I already know and he can stop trying to get it out! Susan
