No, I'm sorry but the rcts have to stay in boot camp during the holidays. She'll get "holiday" time (part of the day off) and a special meal but other than that no different than any other day.

Have you gotten her form letter of kid in a box yet?

You may be able to get her address from the recruiter
No, haven't heard anything yet as it's only been a few days. I atleast know what to expect from reading many discussion here so it has definately helped. Not sure I will ever get used to the lack of communication; really miss my daughter.

Leslie
I know but it will get better. You will never stop missing her but when you hear how excited and happy she is you know she's where she belongs.

The letters will start in a couple of weeks. She's probably wondering why she hasn't heard from you either but they don't get mail for a few weeks.

Call the recruiter on Mon and ask for her address. It will be her temporary addy and may be different from the one that will be in form letter but she should get all mail.
Also, go to your page and scroll down to read messages left for you. I left a greeting message with links and other info...some of it may help you know what she's going through right now.
hi,
This Jan I read that too and was all excited. But thought it was to soon as they haven't been in boot camp long enough.
I was way more worried about them graduating on Christmas eve. Our recruiter seemed to think they'd accelerate BC and get them done on Dec. 17, which would at least allow some liberty time away from GL. Not far, but we have friends in Chicago who have offered their apartments and company so we don't have to park it in a restaurant or something. We'll just have to wait and see, but isn't that what happens on a continual basis with teenagers, whether they're applying for college, for scholarships, going on mission trips, waiting for driver's licenses, etc. I haven't missed my son too much yet. He left on the 28th. But...I opened his truck door yesterday and was flooded by his cologne. That almost did me in! I slammed the door quick to keep the smell in there as long as possible in case I need it again.
Yeah it would be nice to have them home for the holidays. I'm still adjusting to my daughter being gone. It is our first child leaving the nest and is difficult miss her terribly. Yeah I found some clothes of my daughter that she wore
the day before and had her smell still yep I broke down. Talk soon.
I'm pretty sure we'll get through this. Millions have done it before us. It just gets a bit harder to not miss them as the week goes by. Sigh.....
