For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My daughter's boyfriend and I will be staying at a nearby hotel.
They offer a free shuttle service to the graduation. Does the shuttle actually go all the way to graduation site?
Also anyone know how far it is from Burkey Mall to the graduation site. We will not have a rental car.

I did the rental car because my flight gets into O’Hare about 0030 Friday Morning. Living on the edge!!! No sleep for me because I have to pick up my ticket at 0500. My hotel is very close to base . Now I need to figure out if driving or shuttle will decrease my walking exposure on snow and ice. Could just wear my muck boots. Any advice? GDay is 11/30.

Driving will get you closer to the entrance to the drill hall, you can park in the parking lot on base. If you take the shuttle it drops you off at the gate.
The base will be very clear of ice and snow, unless it is snowing when you arrive for PIR.
