Hello,

My son is leaving for BC October 2nd.  Nervous, anxious and without a doubt extremely proud.  I very curious to find out when his Graduation (PIR) will be.  His 6th week is the week of Thanksgiving, and PIR are held on Fridays.  Will the holiday impact his PIR?

Has anyone else not received a phone call. I was so hoping to get one. I noticed that several other Moms have gotten calls from their sailors that left the same day and just hoping that he is okay. I think about him all the time and really missed him this weekend.

No call, no letter hoping praying it is there today. I was a mess on Saturday reading the posts about calls received and I didn't get one. My own fault there is no guarantee. I had to stop looking at the posts the rest of Saturday and Sunday and felt better yesterday that I wasn't alone I thought it was just my son. We are in it together lots of hugs your way.

Auntie6577 and HoneyBeeQueen.  I totally understand how you feel.  I noticed several other Moms received phone calls so I would not let me phone out of my site all weekend.  Even kept it out of my pocket and purse to make sure I would hear it ring lol.  I started to question whether I purchased the right phone card for my son.  Hopefully we will all receive letters and phone calls soon.  My fingers are crossed the letter is there today.  I have my first letter to my son in an envelope all ready to go.

I haven't received  his letter or a phone call, yet.  I am looking forward to his letter, so I can finally have his address.  I have already begun writing him letters. I can't wait to send them to him. The big news of course we all are waiting on is his PIR date.  That will be such an exciting and proud moment!      Lots to look forward to!   Hoping this week sometime.

Hugs to all of you and giving myself one.  So proud of our children, hard to explain to others moms here who do not know what I am talking about.  So grateful to all of you and to this site.

I finally received the PIR letter. He graduates the Wed. before Thanksgiving 11/26/14. I am hoping and praying that we have the money to go. A lot depends on how the new driver for my husbands truck works out. Praying that I can make it. I miss him so much and I hope that I get a phone call real soon. He is amazing! They all are because dedicating themselves to this country as it is right now has to be a scary venture in itself. :) Proud Navy Mom!

Saving Money PIR Weekend and PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend may help you as you plan for PIR weekend.

I left info for you on your My Page.
