For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Daughter Leaves from Jacksonville, FL 9/17 - Anyone Else?
My 19 year old daughter is leaving out on 9/17 and I was just wondering if anyone else out there has a loved one leaving the same date? I come from a military family, dad's retired Air Force and I spent a few years in the Air Force, so I have a bit of an idea of what she'll be going through. I actually had a good time at Basic and technical school, so I hope she will also. I'm sure I'll be a little anxious when she leaves, but mostly I'm just hoping she goes in, embraces the experience and does well. We went through a rough patch (putting it mildly) from the ages of 15-17, so I was completely thrilled when she told me earlier this year she intended to enlist in the military. I think it will give her some direction, and a new level of maturity.

Where was your granddaughter's MEPS? My daughter left from Jacksonville, FL on 9/18. I'm waiting for her kid in a box.

She left from Denver on 9/18. arrived GL late that night. I asked her mom and still no letter or kid in a box. How old is your daughter?

My daughter is 21. I finally broke down today and contacted her recruiter to see if he had her mailing address yet... no go, he said she's still not in their system yet. Still waiting, and waiting, and waiting...

I saw a blog where a mom is talking about a november 15 PIR, her son left Sept 18. She has all his info, ship number etc.. check it out

I haven't gotten my letter yet with the mailing address, but I know some other moms have whose kids left the same day so I'm hoping it will come tomorrow. I did get my Kid in a Box yesterday from FedEx. :-(

I got my Kid in a Box today. I got my daughter's address from her recruiter today too. He sent me what was put into the system, so it should be accurate?

I think I recall reading somewhere that the addresses given by the recruiters may or may not be accurate so it's best to wait for the form letter to come. You would think they would have access to correct information, but never know I guess.

I think I remember hearing that too. My husband printed labels, but we're not sending anything out yet. My daughter's in Ship 2 Div 901.

Still no letter today... I broke down and sent her recruiter a text to see if he might be able to give it to me, so we'll see.

Still no letter again today. Finally talked to her recruiter and he reassured me all was well, that it can take up to 2 weeks for us to get the letter so to hang tight for a few more days. He also said they would have heard something first if something had happened at GL with her and they've gotten no calls, so basically no news is good news. So the wait continues...!
