Our son Matt left  today (9/18)  of San Diego MEPS,  we had the opportunity to spend time with him yesterday for lunch, last night at dinner and then today during his processing.. The Crew at MEPS San Diego could not have been nicer to us, from the Top down.. they were great..   Now the waiting game begins. They already had their flight delayed so who knows when they will get to GL.

Next milestone for us is waiting on the arrival phone call.    Then cleaning his room!

no way!! I was at san diego MEPS also :) my husband had texted me from another shipmates phone saying the flight was at 6:30.. im getting so anxious already!

Yep, apparently their flight was suppose to go out at 3:45, that got changed.   I think my son was in your husbands group..Gary his name?

Yes, gary was him.. we are the one family with the two kids haha those crazy boys. Darn I hate when flights get delayed... Hope 6:30 is the final time

No kidding, well best of luck to you with the kids.. we will keep you in our prayers.. What A school is he going too?

I'm sure our guys will do just fine..

Thank you, the boys are already testing me today now that daddy didnt come home... itll all just take some getting used too. Hell be going to A school in great lakes.

Thank you for the prayers we will def. keep you guys in our also.

Sorry about the boys... having raised 4 kids, I know how they can test you... they seem to sense when they can have the upper hand.. LOL.   Matt will be going to Pensacola.

He's pretty excited about that... its a beautiful area, great beach and warm water.

How exciting! Ive always wanted to go to Pensacola I hear such good things about the weather. Hope he has a great time there.. now all we have to do is wait for our phone call.. Hope to see you at PIR :)

And you are right about them sensing they can have the upper hand. I hope and pray tomorrow will be different, fingers crossed for that.

We will be at PIR.. already have Hotel Reservations lined up for 2 of the possible weeks.. Looks like Nov 16 maybe...  but just speculation on my part.

Talked to Matt right after they landed in Chicago, they were headed to the USO, they were hoping to be put up in a hotel for the night.. Maybe they can get some sleep..   I'll keep you posted if I hear anything else.

Rick & Julie.
