My son leaves on the 20th too.

My son leaves the 20th as well.

How are you Mommas holding up? I have to be honest, today was rough...stay strong! NMITH!

I'm trying to keep really busy and just not think about it. Not working so great!  I'm excited for him, but he's my first of 4 boys to leave home. It's hard!

Are your boys starting to get nervous?  Mine says he's excited but also really nervous.  Every once in a while he looks a little ill.  It's sure a big change.   He keeps saying 23 hours, I'll be at MEPS.   22 hours I'll be at MEPS.

My son is excited and also nervous.  He is a bit moody too because I think he is a bit overwhelmed.  He is my first to leave and my only boy so I am on an emotional rollarcoaster right now.  I am trying to hold it together for him!

Yup...he's excited, nervous, a little short - fused but I totally understand the adjustment...honestly, I feel all of those emotions as well...and short-fused-ugh! Chat with you Mommas in a few days when I get my wits about me;)

How did everyone's day go today...we just got back...my boy is waiting in the airport with 9 other recruits for a 5:30 flight...what an emotional 2 days...sigh...

Jack got really nervous and it was a long day for them to wait around and then fly out around 430pm.  I got my 30 second phone call around 11:15p est and he said once he got on the bus to the base he was good.  Its the anticipation of not knowing.  Saying goodbye was brutal and very emotional but today I am better than yesterday.  I have been writin a letter a day and my girls are too.  He will have a lot to read in a few weeks!  Stay strong mamas and we will see them soon!

We received our call around 11:15 EST, too....have you received the Box? The Fed Ex delivered to my neighbor's today but no box for us...hopefully on Monday..Wow..he was actually able to "talk" to you on the 30 second call...My son sounded like a robot but very strong...just gave us the the info about getting the box, the form letter, and another call in a few weeks...this is tough!. Stay strong, Momma!

My son left on 9/20. Trying to stay busy....

We received "The Box" yesterday!  I am hoping to get the form letter and then a call over the next two weeks.  One week down!!  Did any of you get the box yet?  Andrea
