Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

We are making pillow cases for all of our Sailors,

Marines, Command and Air wing Attached to the USS JOHN C STENNIS.

6000-7000 TOTAL NEEDED

Look for great sale fabrics - Walmart has .75-2.00 fabric per yard a pillow case is roughly 30" of 45 " wide material. Less then a yard.

Joannes has great clearance sales and coupons.

When ordered in groups of 6 doz shipping (ranging from $18.00-$35.00) WILL BE FREE..wahooo

Cost are as follows for these high quality pillow cases

180 thread count is 1.50 each or $135.00

200 thread count is 2.00 ea or $144.00

250 count is 2.50 each or $180.00

Once you receive your pillow cases you can split them with someone else and share if you do not want to commit to 72 pillow cases yourself. 

I am so please he is able to help us out. These are very nice pillow cases. He will be sending me 12 each of the three thread counts so that if someone wants to see samples before they order I will send them to you.

ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED OR STARTED YOUR PILLOW CASES KEEP US UP TO DATE WITH YOUR NUMBERS.

This is very important, take pictures and share what you have it is the only way to know for sure what we have and it also builds confidence in others and makes the whole project MUCH MORE FUN !!!!!!  POST YOUR PICTURES HERE PLEASE

  • AS each of us commits to the number of pillow cases we would like to create, it will go on a spread sheet.
  • When we are ready to ship (1st shipment will go out in July for Arrival in August)  we will get everyone to send there     PC to a particular contact and that shipment will come in one package with appropriate labels etc. 
  • Each pc will have a little card saying WHO made the pillow case or WHO MADE the donation.
  • Each box will have a card that explains how many male female are in the box
  • The outside of the box will have a whole bunch of Labels designating this box to be a PART OF OUR PROJECT. 
  • THE outside of the box will also have information containing how many pillow cases and male to female ratio.
  • ONLY the boxes with these labels will be grouped with Our "UNITED STENNIS FAMILIES PILLOW CASE PROJECT"

 

We just need to start sewing and stashing and looking for deals on fabric.
