I would be up for a meet. With the holidays coming, my son's BC date will be here before I know it, I think it would be nice to meet some local moms who will know what I'm going through.

Thanks for the response Gloria, Push in means, they are graduating them a few days early, last graduating class of the Calandar year, I had to laugh at my freudian slip, I guess thats all I want to do is grab him and go... i was proud of his choose to go Nuke, its not going to be easy, alot of hard work. But what Ive read about other nukes he fits the profile perfectly, And yes the last section of the training for the nukes is protype where they actually run the plants, either in GC or a small town in upstate NY. Cant wait to read the recuits top ten list. I have tried to teach my son ironing, but I was told I will teach him the wrong way LOL, but he's probably right I've only been ironing for 35 years... Thanks again - I feel like Ive been on the computer for the last 12 hours - But honestly I feel better than i did this morning

Thanks for the comments i greatly appreciate it! Look like PIR is going to be a push in on 12/17, He's heading to nuke school, typically they are grab and go, so my hopes will be once he is settled in at A school they will send him home for the holidays, since they stand down for 2 weeks. I wouldnt miss PIR for the world, I cry when I read other mom's stories about it, now Im afraid He will be home before we get back from Chicago, LOL -

Hi Ladies, Count down has begun, 29 Days till Boot Camp. I cant believe its here! We had his going aways party last Saturday and it was a great success - the September weather (as we all know on LI) was amazing. - Ive been gone for a while, but Im back and in need of support, im on the down slide of the emotional roller coaster, seems like after the party the realization that he's leaving soon hit us all, Im sure this is very normal but I feel that Steve is pulling back from the family in preparation for his leaving and starting this amazing journey. Thursday was his last day at work, so now the focus will be on passing the physical test. any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Pat, Glad you got to spend time with your Son before his deployment, I'm sure it was wonderful... My Son is in the DEP Pool, schedule date to leave for BC is 10/25 - seems so far away, He is ready to start this journey and has requested an early leave, which has been approved so we are just waiting for the call... Stay strong and I hope you hear from him soon..
